345-yard 3-wood tee shot on level ground in the fairway. That's a new record...

I guess I'll be the voice of the rest of us mere mortals.

Longest 3 Wood I hit was off the deck in a Men's League scramble last year.  266 to the middle of the green to set up an eagle.  Probably flew it 250 or so.  Slight cross wind, no real elevation change in any direction.

....I was happy with that.  Now I feel slightly inadequate.

Don't sell yourself short, bro. That's a solid 25yds. past my best 7iron.

I know that's tongue and cheek, but for me it's actually shorter than my best 7 iron (from a pure distance standpoint)...by about 70 yards.  That 7 iron may or may not have been aided by a hill...also I definitely flew the green.

It's quite funny to give up on finding a ball, only to find it sitting on the tee box 3 holes ahead and 150 yards further than you intended it to be.

I'm consistently amazed by the number of 10+ handicappers on WRX who regularly bomb it 300+.  Having it be with a 3 wood this time is a nice touch.

Tongue up cheek? Moi?!? Actually, I have hit a 7iron 240 (which would be impressive if my longest 4iron weren't 220). I think most people could rope hook 7 and shorter a lot further if they didn't ever have to worry about longer clubs and trees, and the like, on the right.

When I get 200 yards of carry out of my 3 wood and landed in the middle of the fairway or on the green I am a happy camper!

Off the tee I can stretch my 3-wood out to around 290-300 total.

Off the deck I'm confident going for it from 275 out.

All time long would probably be around 320 downwind.

Some of you guys numbers are ridiculous, one might even say unbelievable. Maybe I better change my Wrx name...

I did a post on mine a few Fall seasons back

255 plate, 274 to pin .. hit my 3 deep off the fairway to about 12 or 15 feet.  It came off so well I was shocked.  Those DF 3w's are a crap shoot off the deck

My buddies were still putting when she ran up to their ankles

All time PB for me.  Missed the eagle.  Off the tee is a diff story, that 3 deep can go 290+ in the right conditions.  Knucklers almost

Last summer on a downhill and downwind par 4 of 410, I was 75 out!   Almost in the greenside pond

Sorry PINESTREET, true stories

Conditions play so much of a factor.  We played Erin Hills last summer and the course was setup up in US Open conditions so it was playing hard and very fast.  On one hole driver wasn't the right play so I hit a 3W.  The caddie said it was 296 (downhill) to the bunker and I couldn't get it there.

You already know what happened. Nutted probably the best shot of the day to only watch it land well short of the bunker but then roll in leaving a bi*** of a lie.

Exception shot as opposed to an average.

More frustrating than people that post this are random guys that you play with that are in a unbelievable denial about how far they hit the ball. They saw Phil hit a 6-iron 212yds ONE TIME on TV and then are flaberghasted when they are 30yds short and haven't even made it to the trap. I truly feel bad for them.

Oh well... Make sure you pick up the new M2 irons and put the TP5 ball in play. You'll be outdriving me with your 5-iron next week at that rate!

I've never hit my 5 iron over 240, hard ground/tailwind or not.  I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I only hit it a mere 200 yards usually.

There was most definitely ice in the 60's. The commonly held view is that the ice trade was started in the 19th century by New England businessman Frederic Tudor. It evolved to benefit the meat packing industry as meat could be shipped longer distances while being preserved.

So please, don't try to tell me that there was no ice in the 60's. You guys aren't fooling anyone

Nope. Had to lob over the edge of a trap and only had about 15 feet of landing space to work with. Scared to leave it short I almost flew the cup and it didn't stop until 20 feet past the hole and from there I didn't make the birdie putt.

Good grief Charlie Brown. I didn't modify that. 3º loft standard spec; I assume that's what mine is.  I bet I have a +1/+2º attack angle normally, unless I'm on the fringe and then it's probably +4/+5º.  Guess I gotta update the sig.

Wait what? 21.75* 5i...can you bend a club 7 degrees?

I love the ".75" part of the spec too

21.77? 21.73? No! Dammit, I want 21.75!

Can bend-o-meters measure to that resolution?

24º is standard spec.  G's launch so high it could still be a degree lower than the ~2º stronger mine is bent to.  Had to round off to something. I like eighths on length and quarters on angles.  When we were looking at it on the machine, it was more than halfway toward 22 from 21, but definitely not to 22 yet.  Ping publishes their lie spec in hundredths and appears to round off to sixteenths of a degree.  Now THAT is anal.

I thought 28 was standard spec?
