They are in a time of large expansion buying up many clubs in the area and in S.C. and Houston under Sequioa Golf Company. So their prices have gone up this season but still a very good deal.
Family yearly membership - usd $1500.00 p/year to have access to approx 15-19 clubs. Average cost p/round weekday $8.00-10.00 plus usd $14.00 cart fee. Weekend a little higher.
If you do not want to pay fees everytime - for approx usd $3000.00 p/year - for your home area courses.

King's Forest is one of the BEST courses in the region, and is very easily one of my favourites. Over 7100 yards off the tips...how much more could you possibly want? Played it last July...OMG the WORST conditions EVER!!! With rerouting the Red Hill Creek throughout the course (for construction of the nearby Red Hill Expressway)...most of the irrigation lines were cut. Resulting in NO WATER. Didn't help that we had an extremely hot & dry summer. Course was like concrete...everywhere! I may has well of tee'd it up on the Q.E.W. It was a shame to see such a fantastic course, in such poor shape. Hope they can bring it back to life for you in '08. Being a public course, I've found it's conditions over the years to vary. Most times great...other times...not.
The .20 must be a penalty of sorts...just 'cause you live in Hamilton...

I'm hoping to hear someone's account of the course, (and whether it's possible to think of being a member or just a pipe-dream to think of playing/joining there)
if you wouldn't mind sharing the initiation (under age 40) and monthly dues either on here or via pm, i'd be grateful.

When I played at our nicer public courses ($80-120 green fee) memberships ran about $3100/year.
Our private courses generally run from 10-35k for the share, 10-15k for the transfer, $3300-4500/year in green fees (single), with a $600-800 spending minimum (which gets spent pretty easily anyways).

Only government could come up with the $.20 It amazes me that it is such a nice track and the city hasn't completely screwed it up yet. Can hardly wait to hit the links. If it ever stops snowing....
I play at Whistle Bear just outside of Cambridge
From the tips (not where I play) : 7717yds 136/74.2 stunningly well conditioned
Membership 3000 /yr no minimums
Cheers,
Erik

Course name: Laukaa Peurunka Golf 6100 m par 72
Adult year fee is 450 euros (can play about 6 months).
No extra fees for tee-times, but 20 euros for a car.
(We do not use cars unless you have to.
Last yearI didn't see any using a car, when I was playing.)
Very normal prise in cenral Finland.
If you don't get an annual fee, and pay just for green fees, it's about 30 - 40 euros per round.

it's not a country club, just an awesome golf course and practice facility.

No, it is not DuPont. Dupont is around $3K upfront and another $3k a year for dues.
