Top Flite Gamer Tour. 420 yard par 4, had a 75 yard pitch shot as my approach. Nice high low spin baby draw for 340ish.

Truthfully there was a 20mph tailwind in the middle of July in Texas. Hard, browning burnt out hardpan fairways with the tail wind had more to do with that drive than the ball lol.

How has nobody mentioned the original Pro V1? You line the up on the seam and that thing went deep. Almost illegally deep. (Probably illegally deep).

My longest drive ever was with one. Northern Illinois, dry, windy, a little downhill 565 yd par 5. I smashed my 975J-VS down the right side, kept rolling and rolling. Ends up at the 150 yd marker. 415 yards later, my dad calls me an a****** and flips me off.

I second this.  Still have 11 new balls left.  Always keep one in my pocket as my backup/OB replacement ball.  I'd play it full time if I had more and I'm not paying the Ebay prices.

It is relative to the times, but the first generation Pro V1X was 10 yards longer off the driver for me than anything I had played before.

2013 ProV1x is a long ball for me.

I am trying to remember what ball I hit 348 yds with, but I can't. It was last year - 41 yds from the flag on a 389 yd hole. Probably a ProV1x.

I did plaster a ball into water that fronted a green on a 420 yd par 4, but that was wind and dry condition aided. That was 1992, so it could have been anything.

Some of the cheap distance balls go pretty far. However for premium balls, Callaway Tour IZ has been the longest off the tee for me. The higher compression balls go the furthest for me.

If you are just seeking a ball to hit off the tee in scrambles....for me longest is E7.  Plus at that cost losing a few in trees trying for hero shots doesn't hurt as bad as losing a ProV or equivalent.

If you have the swing speed, the B330 ('14-'15) is an absolutely monster. It also has more rollout than any ball I've played.

I stocked up and have about 6 dozen left.  I'm rationing them to my more important or nicer course rounds.

Dunlap Tour Fire from back in the 90's.

No long back-story, just a freakishly long ball off the tee for me, and had some spin around the green.  Still have a dozen of the Tour JD (John Daly) sitting on my mantle that my cousin sent me for Christmas one year autographed by JD himself at one of his Hooters stops in Vegas.  I'm never hitting any of these, as they could be worth a fortune if JD ever wins a Major again!

Seriously though, probably 330ish on the Palmer course at Reunion with a B330. Shot 40, 50 that day. Twas a rusty no practice mid winter round on vacation. Was humbling as hell lol

When I was about 18 years old and didn't care a lick about spin, I'd often play with Pinnacle Extreme golf balls. The furthest ball I've hit in my life was with one of those! They are complete rocks but they do go far.

Now, I did try one of those illegal Nitro balls off the tee after finding one the hole prior and seemed to hit it a ton. However, I don't remember how long it was and it shouldn't count for this conversation anyway.

Fast forward to modern day... I couldn't tell you what ball I've hit the longest because IMO all of the top tour balls go about the same distance.

Taylormade M2 9.5 set to 7.5 (Matrix Ozik 70 X-Stiff)
Callaway X2 Hot 3 Deep 14.5 Deg X-stiff (Aldila Rogue Green)
(Hybrid Out) Slot to be filled
Mizuno MP-64 4-5 (DG X-100)
Mizuno MP-4 6-PW (DG X-100)
Callaway MD2 50 deg
Vokey SM4 54 Deg
Callaway MD2 60 Deg
(Putter Out) Slot to be filled
Ball: Apply for position

I replaced the driver AND IRONS so now all the other clubs are nervous!

Longest ball I could not have possibly hit...

Playing a course in Arizona. Par 5. TP Red ldp uniquely marked. Hook one off the tee in the houses left, crosses over at about 210 yard, roughly. I hear no crash and feeling thankfull. Re-tee, hitting straight about 270 with roll. Hit that shot, heading to the hole and another 100 plus yards ahead of my re-tee shot is my first. Unmistakable markings on a not so common ball..not so sure how far a ball can bounce off stucco or Spanish tiles, but 370+ is not possible for me even with a sprinkler head or cart path bounce..somebody had to hit my ball from their yard down the fairway as a joke.

For pure tee driver shots only...has to be the Intech Beta TI (to call it a rock is an understatement). For golf score has to be the Nike RZN tour Platinum (silver box).  Ball cuts through the wind, nice medium traj, and plenty of roll of my last two driver. Love that ball

For me - relative to other balls at the time - it would be either the Original Maxfli A-10 Or the Pro V1x the first couple of generations.   The Maxfli just flew for ever - got up, flattened our and never wanted to come down.

On the Pro V side, for the first few generations, I wouldnt play new PRO V1's regulaly b/c of cost and I rarely found good deals, but some things I noticed when I came across them

I used to play 2 balls off the tee a lot - particularly on new courses to me - one with 3 wood and one with driver to see what worked better.   When I hit another companies top level ball with a driver and the PRO V1 X with a 3 wood, they went almost the same distance.

The other telling sign was the guy I used to play with I was generally 30 yds longer off the tee than he was.  One day he was complaining how sometimes it just jumped out of nowhere I was 50-60 yds longer for a stretch or a whole round.

The final thing - back then I had my normal swing, but if I got the club in the right spot going back I knew I could swing as hard as I wanted and I'd hit it good.  When I felt that combined with a PRO V1 X- I would get huge gains - much more than with another ball.

Once I found a source for good quality used balls, I would always try new companies (Looking for the performance with that old balata feel), would convince myself I liked it until I went back to the PRO V1X.

Today I think some companies have caught them - while still being a good choice for my score/or being complete rocks.   Came to the party late on the TP RED LDP's, but I believe those would have held their own.  2014 and after editions of the B330 I think are slightly longer for me, as was the Taylormade Lethal (in fact the LETHALs are probably my favorite feel since the old balatas).  Havent tried a TP-5 yet, but I think the TPx was a tiny step backwards from the Lethal. It's still in my choices to play, but I liked the Lethal better.    Other contenders distance wise for me didnt spin enough going into the greens.

Picked up some Nike RZN Platinums late last year for 8 bucks to finish the season, and those hold their own as well with great control.  Liked them enough that I got another couple dozen to get me thru at least until summer.

I won a long drive today with a k-sig, 385 yards, it was very down wind and hard fairways though.  There was an official measuring so no funny business going on.  We were the first group out, if it wasn't for the official I'm sure some yahoo would have moved the marker up, that's what usually happens.  Having 120 in on a par 5 is not something I'm used to, I could get used to that.

K-Sig is probably the longest ball I've every played.  It's a great ball all around, regardless of price point.

After that, probably Nike Rzn Tour Black or B330s, but they are only a yard or two ahead of TPx or Prov1x for me.

I used to hit the old Precept EVs a long way back in high school.  Hit my longest drive ever (363) with that ball.

Just hit one ~389 yards with the TP5X (In Colorado Springs, which is about 6300 ft above sea level).  But still, I play in Denver and surrounding areas mostly, and that's by far the longest I've ever hit one.

My brother won some  FooKingLong golf balls once and they are long. They are illegal but they are long and they feel as solid as a rock. I can't tell the difference in distance between any ball but I could with these.

This is a tough question since my club head speed has slowed down from 20 yards ago, but I consistently hit the Precept MC Lady a long way and yes...I'm a man. :stink:

Wow 6 pages in and I can't believe no one has mentioned the Snell MTB. For me, coming from the Prov1x, it goes at least 10-15 yards further on average. I won't play another ball

My longest drive ever was with a Srixon AD 333, but that ball caught a big down slope that added 30-40 yards so doesn't really mean much. The ball that was longest comoared to others at tje same time was the Maxfli Revolution II. It came out around 2004 and was an incredible ball. Longer than ProV1x but more grip than a ProV1. I couldn't understand at the time why they weren't more popular, they were a hidden gem.
