I've heard of 1 person getting an extra weight from Callaway but that's it. I know several guys who decided to cut theirs down after receiving and tried to get an extra weight from Callaway and were told they wont be selling or giving out any extra weights unless you order it at the shorter length. One guy even tried to go through the dealer we bought our clubs from and they still told him no. As I understand it Billy Bobs is the only other alternative and its taken so long I'm not sure they're ever going to release them.

Damn. I don't know if it was something I said to get one easily or just the right person but I called them once and it only took a couple minutes to get another weight. The weight arrived in Michigan in a couple days as well.

I'll believe it when I see them available for order.
It has been a very long time since they told me "a few weeks".

I know. I saw the posting over a month ago and called them today. The rep did say: "I know we said that last week."  Assuming this is a QC issue and they don't want to deal with a bunch of returns. I'd rather wait and get something more "permanent".

I called one time and Callaway sent me the extra weight.  I sold the epic and now have the extra weight lying around.  Guess I should throw it up on the BST.

Are there any charts with the weight configs and what the result of said config is supposed to do for performance?

Just got mine today and has 2 weights.  It is 45.5" but with a midsize grip (MCC Plus4 - 66g) so perhaps offsetting the grip weight?  I should have paid closer attention to the weight placement before I removed one thinking it was a spare.

Aldila Rogue Silver shaft at 70g FWIW.

Did you request a specific SW or did they just add in the extra weight?

How does the rogue 70g feel in the epic? I know it is actually a higher weight (~78g) but was wondering if it actually feels heavy or if it is not that bad due to the counter balance.

Sorry for the late reply.  It felt right and produced the best numbers for me.  Granted I tested at 45" and with the standard 1 17g weight and without the MCC Plus4 midsize.  I am almost certainly removing the midsize grip now that i have played with it a while and will look for a 17g weight from Callaway - will call them tomorrrow.

Weirdly, my irons (just ordered) are shafts on the lighter side (105g).

The results of this shaft (heavier) were much better than many of the 60-65 gram shafts.

I ordered my Custom 45' D3 and it arrived D1. I called Callaway and after a few minutes of debate they decided to send me both "animal style" weights. Turned out perfect at D3 right on the button. Sounds to me like unless you specifically requested a shorter setup with swingweight requirements they say no. Makes no sense too me that they wouldn't allow a retailer too order them however if necessary, not smart. BB

The weights that have the values on them are photo etched on the side not cast in. I've seen 17, 14, 12, 11, 9 gram weights. On all but the standard 17 the value is etched into the side. They are all two pieces of different sizes (with the screw being the third piece). The 3 pieces weighed together add up to the weight etched on the side of the main piece.. the fact that there is an 11 and 12 would seem to indicate there are more values. Don't need any higher than 17 as 34 grams using 2 would cover virtually any useable shorter club.

I posted a while ago about my custom fit epic feeling a bit light when it arrived. I calculated it would swingweight at D0 or C9. I was fit for the club at a National Callaway fitting centre and it was ordered at 45 inches but no swingweight specified. Anyway, finally got round to getting the swingweight property checked out. Confirmed swingweight at D0. Callaway are sending the local pro shop an additional weight which I am told will get swingweight up to around D3. Iíd prefer D4, this will be an improvement. Of the guys playing an Epic with the two weight, how have you set them on the track? One at each end or both together in the middle? Interested to hear other folksí experiences and experiments with the additional weight.

It has been stated numerous times that they should be kept together and move them around like you would a single weight. I don't believe we have heard the specific reason why from callaway, but there have been a few people who were told the same thing.

So my experience has progressed a little. Callaway sent the pro shop another 17g weight. Together with the existing 17g weight, the head was way too heavy. So that was no good. I emailed the Callaway rep I had been dealing with about the original order, but no response after a few days so I just called Callaway direct. They sent me out an 11g weight. So I installed it and played 9 holes. It felt way better. But then the rep emailed me back and advised under no circumstances to play with an additional weight in the track. They had tried this with tour guys previously and head failure was common. Recommendation was to go find someone who could add hot melt. Iíve now had that done, and SW is D4.5. Now I just need a decent day to get out and use the thing!

Did he say what kind of failure and why?

I don't know that his comment is aligned with the rest of the company considering they have shipped a lot of clubs with multiple weights in them. I'd like him to explain why it is ok to add weight via hot melt (which by the way has a much greater chance at causing a bond failure) and not by adding weight to the mechanism that was designed to have a weight installed in it.

Had mine shortened half an inch and it came with two weights (in the "Fade" position now to lessen my hook).

Does anyone know the size of the screw the weights use?  I have a spare weight/slider thingy but the screw that was included from Callaway is for a shaft adapter not for the sliding weight.

Thanks
