The scene at 2:50 made me chuckle a little. He was scooping those raw heads like I would shoveling the driveway.

I discovered a whole other side of Youtube this morning with this video. At work it showed just this. But, when I went to my home computer it showed a whole bunch of old Japan Tour rounds. Might be interesting for the Japanese Classic Golf Club buff.

The first one I looked at is an instant classic: JUMBO Ozaki! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! My sides!

The 96 Dunlop Pheonix Tournament final round... Watson three behind Ozaki.

Appreciate the look inside the iron factory.  A perspective I've never seen.

As to the second video . . . I've worn a few outfits over the years that should never have seen the light of day upon further reflection.   Every once and a while a video/photograph will turn up to confirm my thoughts.   Purple turtle necks and matching purple jeans forever immortalized in a grade 9 photograph taken 25 years ago.

Just got a set of KZG's that were forged there and loving them so far. They also make heads for a few other companies (KZG moved their production to China). Zestaim is their in house brand and these are just perfect IMO. Their in house version of Miura Baby Blades.

As someone who's into golf history at least as much as golf clubs, the Japanese Tour stuff you can find using that link is just something else. There's a 92 Casio Open vid there with a young Lefty, Sandy Lyle, a a young fit Tom Lehman and fully mulleted out John Daly - these were tournaments you'd only see the results of buried in obscure golf magazines. You were lucky to get a glimpse of famous Japanese players when they came over for majors, or whatever. Definitely some colorful dudes.

You've got to respect anyone leading a tournament that warms up with a cigarette in his mouth. That's just bad a**.

Kyoei forges for quite a few brands I believe.....Geotech is a quality iron can be had for very reasonable price.....kinda like Costco of JDM....

If you even make it to PGA tour your a badass.....and if you can stay for any length of time well even bigger.....Zach johnsons, and Luke Donalds are incredible to be shorter hitters but maintain status.......I know there's all kinds of stats but worst guy on PGA tour is phenomenal putter and has incredible shortgame, iron and driver as well.....you simply can't even be on that level without.......see many great college players who can't even come close to making it that far......

Well if Vega makes awesome irons n wedges..there marketing blows. There sales and exposure is way less for a supreme product.

Is that not the case for most superior man made goods?

You are almost always better off getting a fabricated good from a small company, and a company that is not heavily invested in marketing.

Oh yeah, that is where miura learned how to forge golf clubs.  He worked there before going out on his own.  I want to say that tabuchi from fuso dream and his buchi line also started there.  Just becuase you haven't heard of them here doesn't mean they are not sorta a big deal halfway across the world with as much work as they need to not feel the need to market over here so that when you have heard of them you can equate them to superior.  Not trying to be as jerky as this may read, I don't mean it like that just trying to say equating a superior product to your exposure to the company (marketing) is probably not a good idea.  Superior products should be measured solely by the superiority or lack there of in the actual product.

Just got a set of KZG's that were forged there and loving them so far. They also make heads for a few other companies (KZG moved their production to China). Zestaim is their in house brand and these are just perfect IMO. Their in house version of Miura Baby Blades.

This is my next set of blades, I am serious.  2 sets of vegas I wanted to love and couldn't becuase of the toe and 7/8 transition in the rafcm, and sheer size of the vm02.  These are perfect, looks like a modernized raf Cm with a sick high and square toe, exactly how inwoukdnhave changed that set.  Love these clubs.  First irons I have coveted seriously in years.

Well if Vega makes awesome irons n wedges..there marketing blows. There sales and exposure is way less for a supreme product.

Is that not the case for most superior man made goods?

You are almost always better off getting a fabricated good from a small company, and a company that is not heavily invested in marketing.

absolutely...... and i especially respect a company that knows when to stop ... not really stop growing , but when its sustainable....  Too big always equals less quality .. and "marketing " is generally a synonym for lying....  or at least embellishment ..  a brand like Miura or Kyoei... they sell themselves... all it takes is a picture ...once you hit either.. you will never want to settle again ..
