I was looking at the top courses in Arizona and saw that 24 of the 25 best are private. I am not that kid asking how I get on to Cypress Point or Augusta, I am just wondering if these are easy to work your way on or who I have to talk to. I will be in Scottsdale in mid March and already will be playing at a couple of nice courses like Troon and We-Ko-Pa.
Thanks

You might try asking your pro to call for you. That has been known to open some doors.
If that doesn't work, try writing a handwritten letter explaining how you'd like to play it. I've had success with both.
Granted, even those aren't going to get you onto the most exclusive courses, but it's worth a shot nonetheless.

They're not! Sunridge Canyon, Troon North, Grayhawk, We-Ko-Pa are courses that I'd put up against anything in Scottsdale including Desert Mountain or Whisper Rock.
Don't believe everything you read. The private clubs are just trying to sell memberships in bad economic times.

Go play We-Ko-Pa, Troon North and Dinosaur Mountain and call yourself good. The high end privates are really not much better if at all and I've played a few. Not to mention guest fees can be some real high $$$. Not that the nice publics are cheap either. LOL
