Epic!

You should take full credit for this.  You gave their management the hard sell on Rory during the roundtable haha

I'm sure Callaway resisted the idea of having Rory pontentially on board ...

The key is Rory signing on the doted line.  As mentioned many times before I would love to see Callaway loosen up and learn from OEMS that have pushed the 14 club (or close to deal).  TM doesn't pay more to play their driver - they make it more available for players to only have a few of their clubs under cover.

If the EPIC is this good - make it the most available driver for anyone to play.
I did not realize that Callaway was keeping anyone from playing their drivers.

Love the mixed bag! Play what performs best for you. I have a feeling Rory would shoot par with a 2x4.

I thought it was said that new equipment contracts would take that amount of obligation off of Nike. If that is true why would he sign with anyone for anything as he would not be gaining any extra money?

The thing is they do have that flexibility. Few will actually ever do it though. Nobody forces them into situations with equipment where they can not do that. The love/lure of guaranteed money for equipment that "might" be as good as something else overrides logic and common sense all the time.

I am not sure why so many people are so shocked about the putter.  SC is not the end all to be all for putters.  I have had many in my hand, never liked a one of em.

Odyssey makes as good a putter as anyone.

It's not that it is necessarily better in quality, but Rory has putted better with a Scotty than others.
I see it the same as the Pro V1. It is not the best ball, but for many it provides the consistency for them to perform their best.

You wouldn't believe how excited Callaway is for the new odyssey putters. They think they've found something special. I rolled a two ball that felt great.

I got fit into a #1 after trying at least a dozen putters.  Great roll! New insert eliminates some skidding for better control and the versa look makes it simple to align. 1 3-putt at Torrey with it, and that was from 70+ feet, over a ridge and 4 feet of break. Other than that, it was a easy putt :taunt:

Between this new line, Rory rolling an Odyssey, and Toulon doing their high-end custom line, they are set to dominate the putting market in 2017.

im truly shocked he hasnt considered the wedges...with the greatest wedge designer alive at his disposal it seems a waste to not have a set of his master pieces in the bag....

I think it looks good! Kind of like an inbred xr16 and RFE.

I would prefer they left off the "aerodynamic" speed step.

For all we know he did consider them and happened to like the Vokeys more. I don't think we know anything about what he tried/didn't try. Also, very possible we see his set ups change quite a bit in the coming weeks.

It's probably sentimental for him to play the Vokes again. He had a successful run and piece of history with them in the bag.
