So, it's not ALL the clubs.....but i shot a 71 (-1) today at my club and in the rain at that. I had never broken par there before, been a member 5 years. It's a tough course from the back tees (75/140) and i have had probably 10+ scores of 72

So today a 71 with 5 birdies.

For the purposes of this thread! It was with the exact bag i was fit for (used the MD forged lob wedge and Versa Works putter which i've mentioned i swap sometimes)

The kicker was that i also used a Chrome Soft ball!

Great round Jeff! I too have been playing incredibly well. I'm using all 14 clubs I was fit for and I'm really confident in my game right now. My tinkering has really slowed down as well. Right after the trip I did order a bunch of stuff to try out and compare results but our fitters knew what they were doing! The only change I've really made is graphite in the irons and so far i've really liked it. The Tour V's perform really sweet but my back can get pretty sore after long rounds. The Recoil's have me still feeling great after rounds and in the mornings.

Also, I'd love to get a Callaway Trip VS. Taylormade Trip Ryder Cup thing going on!

Bandon Dunes! A place I would like to visit someday. :-)

The clubs have been kind to me as of late: three rounds in the 70's in my last six rounds.

Here is where you can usually find me at dawn working on my short game:

Nice rounds, Sean.  The short game work is paying off.

I went to the Quicken Loans tournament here in DC last week.  Lots and lots of Epic drivers.  Some with other manufacturers headcovers or personalized headcovers.  Very good representation on the tour. Also, a lot of Apex irons.  standard and pros.
I took my father on Thursday and the crowds in the morning were pretty small, so we were able to get close, especially around the tees and greens. Many Odyssey putters, but not many O-Works.  I'd say over half the field uses some sort of mallet now.  I might need to tinker with one (again). :taunt:

Greg, I am really partial to my "O" Works putter...it has great feel to it. I never thought I would have a mallet style putter in my bag, but so far it has been working very well.

Great to hear!.  I'll have to check one out.  I was close to going with the O Works Fang with the "Anser" neck when we were there.  That is a nice combination of the two styles.  The R-Line is nice also.  I'm actually starting to get the itch to tinker again

That hurts chris! I know the truth hurts! ;) I'm all in for Vegas! You'll have a harder time getting me away from the tables! One good thing about Vegas is I won't need a room. TPC, tables, pass out by the pool, and repeat! Won't be the last time I do that!

We need to pick a place that has a TPC. I can get 8 of us one round for sure, but as soon as we can all agree on a place I can find out about getting all 10 of us.

Someone needs to set up a PM?

Greg, I am really partial to my "O" Works putter...it has great feel to it. I never thought I would have a mallet style putter in my bag, but so far it has been working very well.

Great to hear!.  I'll have to check one out.  I was close to going with the O Works Fang with the "Anser" neck when we were there.  That is a nice combination of the two styles.  The R-Line is nice also.  I'm actually starting to get the itch to tinker again

lol :-)

I'm all about the trip!!  Only one catch - I'm currently 13/14 Callaway.

9.0 Epic SZ/HZRDUS 6.0 (on order)
15 Epic / HZRDUS 6.0
Apex Pro (3-p) w/ Tour Issue X100 (satin finish and Tiffany ferrules in the works)
MD3 (50s, 54w, 58c) with Onyx Tour Issue
Odyssey Milled RSX #1

Which "Trip Team" do I play for!?!?!

Just kidding!  I'm riding with my guys from the TM Trip all the way. If we don't beat you EPIC TRIP guys on the course, we'll do our best to drink you all under the table!

Callaway boys, you all still gaming the Chrome balls? I haven't tried the X yet. The plain Chrome Soft I like one minute and then the next I hate it.

The X is a softer version of the V1X, to me...long, spin is very good and not clicky at all off the putter...

if we do Vegas there is about 10% chance we all make it to the course everyday.

10%? Bram you have very high expectations.

Well I assumed at least 3 of us will still be up drinking from the night before so we should be able to catch an Uber to the first tee.

I bounce around.  I'll use the chrome x, b330s and the z star.  Not sure if any of those are close in characteristics for spin and launch, but I like them.

What ball do you think is better in the wind the X or Z star?

I wish I had an answer for you on that one. I haven't really done enough playing in windy conditions with either of those balls to give you an honest answer.  The b330s is my go to in wind for some reason, not really sure why.

The Srixon ZStar XV is the best wind ball I've ever tested, hands-down.

Do we have to play TM clubs?

We're Wrx'ers. We'll play whatever is new, shiny and expensive.
Let's get it booked!

I'm ready. Let's pick a time and place. We could probably start a big pm thread with the trip guys and Hipcheck and see where the best place to meet would be.

Maybe Johnny could MC. :-)

I have beaucoup premium golf balls that I have found, but I find the CS to be a great ball. I prefer the X by a narrow margin. I use the CS when I am playing in tournaments.
