Looks like he just kills it with the spider in the bag. 2nd now after rd 3! Get it DJ

I've ranted about his putting stroke & playing a toe hang scotty for years.  His misses were a clear indication he needed to bag a Face Balanced putter.  I couldn't be happier that he finally canned the Scotty!!!

DJ has a chance to win a lot of tournaments this year!  Hopefully he stays "Cool & Focused" because he really is the only thing that can stop his success.

Too bad the Spider that he games is NOT face balanced... It has a slant neck

It's barely a toe hang, much less than the scotty....which was clearly his problem.  He was slamming the door on the scotty & missing left.  Those short misses are now hitting the bottom of the cup.

Not too much less toe hang, it's in between face balanced and his plumber's neck Scotty. I think it's less the toe hang and more the mallet.
i just got a DJ spider and was coming from a newport which has 45* toe hang vs 38* in the spider. Feels amazing and the roll off the face is amazing.  Can't wait to play this weekend.

That UDI 2 iron is an absolute weapon for DJ.  I think that is really going to help him this year (not that he needed much help).  I've always thought it was kind of strange that many of the biggest hitters carry a 5 wood instead.  I understand that they can hit a 5 wood higher and softer, but I think it comes down to what club you are going to use more.  You might hit one or two 5 woods a round.  I'd bet there are many rounds where you never hit it at all.  Meanwhile that driving iron is probably going to be used on 5 tight holes per round.  There is NEVER a round where I don't use my 2 iron at least 3 times.

I believe it's bent to 54* because DJ said he carries 48, 54 and 60 wedges in his interview with Buccigross on ESPN last night

i like that he uses blades and has not been pressured to play an iron that is marketed for the masses

I think Jason Day is regretting making the Spider so popular on tour.  That's all DJ needed to become consistently awesome rather than occasionally awesome.

Is there any information about DJs wedge gaps and distances, seems to be PW, 52, 60. Seems to be the only guy with those gaps.

DJ plays a 45.25" driver based on the normal ruler that taylormade uses. On the older tour ruler it would come out to around 45.75. Got this from the tour rep as I didn't believe it when they said 45.75" either.

I also find that hard to believe. I know he's tall, but his driver looks really short.

I can't confirm it but I remember seeing that he has a 52 but it's bent to 54. That'd make a bit more sense but again I cannot confirm

The wind was up most of the week, and it was a 6-shot lead (Rosie was 8 behind).
