Is no one going to mention the red "T" highlight lines are the same as the Cameron studio design on the No. 5 back in like '02?

Anyone else worried about those little things getting bent? The whole point is that one side freely hangs down so it can flex in and spring out on impact, right? So what happens if you accidentally drop it or something? If it hits right, those could bend in and stop springing back out. If it's fragile enough to move when a ball hits it, it seems like it wouldn't take much force to ruin the face of the putter.

I have mixed feelings on these, makes me wonder if we all naturally put backspin on the ball anyway, not sure how vital topspin on the ball when putting has ever made a difference for the masses anyway? I mean if the info claims that only tour pros put top spin on the ball when they putt, than what the hell are we doing? Hmm just seem to be favoring older versions of the 9 and 2 , might just have to wait to try it out when they finally come to golf shops

Its not like these pieces protrude and hang down with space behind them. See photos below.

They are more like small protruding, angled bumps.

I suggest just trying them.  Putters are very personal.  All that matters is if it rolls the ball good.

It may roll the ball well but if you can't stand how it looks, feels, sounds, struggling with alignment, weights etc then it won't survive in play.

Under "learn more" on Callaway's site, it shows this graphic:

it seems they do protrude with nothing behind it, it is just covered with the elastomer

some good points you have made but I have to add another prerequisite for a putter besides how well it rolls the ball and that is the feeling you get upon contact which allows you to lag putts accurately. The White Hot RX insert rolls the ball "good" but is too soft, imo, and is difficult for me to lag putt consistently.

I rolled both the #1 and #7 today. The roll to get ball going was effortless- could really feel that this insert is different. However, overall putter is nothing special, just your typical odyssey.

Odyssey needs to make a slant neck mallet like the Itsy Bitsy DJ model...

Agree 1000000% and I would imagine the Toulon line having it.

I asked for a flow neck on my pre-Odyssey Memphis and they said they couldn't do that YET.  I'd grab one in a heartbeat if that became an option.

All that being said, if you start draining alot of putts with it, it will most likely stay in the bag no matter how fugly it might appear to your eye ;)

at least until the next Odyssey Putter's come out. Which is usually about every six months isn't it?
