Since I live in Wisconsin, having a decent golf game on the computer or video game console is essential to keep me from going insane in the winter months.  What's your favorite golf game?  Currently, I'm playing EA Sports Tiger Woods 2012 (Masters Edition) and EA Sports Tiger Woods 2014 (with Arnold Palmer on the cover).  Previous favorites include:

Tiger Woods 07
Microsoft Golf
Links 386 (wow, what a game, great memories)
EA Sports PGA Tour II (early 90's)
Jack Nicklaus Unlimited Golf (early 90's)

Anyone else play during the off season?

I find golfing on the Wii to be fun - although it's not the most thrilling thing ever. Even non-golfers can join in with you!

I used to love Tiger Woods on Playstation. Then they started making it suck. Then they started only making it for PS4 - and considering I only 'game' once a month at most, my PS3 is suitable.

I used to, don't have time or desire for it anymore. I used to love Links on the PC, that was great with some premier tracks. Mario Golf was a game I really got into for a while, but that's back in the N64 days. If you want to go super old school I played a ton of Jack Nicklaus golf on the original Nintendo back in the day. I've also got a Tiger Woods for the Wii, it's alright, too much time and effort for my liking to build up.

I really enjoy the golf club. Scratches the itch for the most part.

Mario Golf Toadstool Tour for the Nintendo Gamecube is the best I've played.

I've heard the Mario Golf World Tour game for the Nintendo 3DS is really good as well.

Links is fantastic and if you search the Internet you'll find user communities with thousands of courses,  including the big one.  They have a course designer that is used to build homemade courses.  I remember messing around and creating my local muni for fun many years ago.

I've been playing Rory Mcillroy PGA Tour and The Golf Club on XBOX One. Rory has some really fun fantasy courses on it and I like The Golf Club because there are so many courses that users create that are either very realistic or are just a blast to play. I am one of the Younger guys and so I have had a every Tiger Woods game since '99, I also used to like playing Hotshot's Golf on Playstations and Swingers on Gamecube.

Favorite Golf Game of all time though is Tiger Woods 2005.

The Golf Club is by far the best golf game I have played.  The architect has made it an incredible game with over 100,000 courses available to play. I play about 4 nights a week with a buddy. we use skype to chat and have a really good time.
