I got a nice little chuckle when I was behind a truck with this sticker this morning.

What I find actually really funny is that people who are idiots are always so damned proud of themselves - lol.

Around here, it's Subarus hands down (unless it's a WRX, then it has a really loud exhaust and drives like a bat outta hell).

Grand Marquis/Crown Vic/Lincoln Towncar

True if piloted by a senior citizen.  But if it's a livery driver behind the wheel, fall in behind it.  That bad boy will be moving.

For me, it's gotta be anything Volvo.  The same acute concern for safety that drove them to buy a Volvo seems to extend to the driving of the Volvo once they own it.

Worst drivers are Prius and CRV.

Buick makes some sport calls like the regal turbo and used to have the grand national. Can't lump all Buick categories together.

Old people behind the wheel. But when it comes right down to it, do you really want them driving any faster?

We have a saying around my hometown, ďDonít get behind an old man or an old truck. Never get stuck behind an old man driving an old truck. Turn around if youíre behind an old man driving an old truck and he has a hat on!Ē

Pretty rural out here, so this happens quite a bit.

Outta my way, or atleast let me pass! I need to get a large bucket in before my round! (Never late for a tee time, just want plenty of warmup time) :)

The Grand National may have been the greatest sleeper car of the 80s.  Neat concept and good execution on that one.

The new regal GS looks decent, 300+ hp and not that expensive with a good AWD system.

Buick's a funny company because the Encore and the Regal have some legit personality but i'm not sure why anyone buys anything else they make. Even within GM there are more appealing options on the same platform

It surprises me Buick still exists.  Seems the headline make and premium brand is safe for the (formerly) big 3, but for everything else cost efficiencies are the concern.

I imagine Cadillac and Lincoln are safe.  Maybe Chrysler if the new minivan (Pacifica) sells.

But Mercury, Oldsmobile, Plymouth, Pontiac - all gone.

For the love of Burt Reynolds' mustache - how do you kill off the Excitement Division.

I'm a GM guy pretty much (wife has an Equinox, father in law has a cadillac and they have a second equinox, i drive a buick), and i am looking at newer models.

It's tough to really see the differentiation in brands. Like does it really matter if you get a GMC Terrain or an Equinox? Does the Chevy Trax need to exist or can't you just have an entry level Encore? Why do the Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade all need to exist?

There's really too many models to choose from

Au contraire, mon frere.  :D  My Volvo is rarely outside of the left lane.  T6 is a brilliant motor!

I would have loved nothing more than for GM to axe Buick and keep Pontiac. However, even back 10 years ago, Buick was big in China, and I understand why they kept it.

That said, the Regal TourX is currently on my short list of new cars to watch for 2018, and maybe pick one up at year end when the discounts start rolling in.

I assume the US market is still by far the most profitable for a manufacturer (in light of our disposable income and obsession with trucks and suvs).  But presumably China has long surpassed us in total volume.  It's interesting that Buick lives on as a premium model over there.

I wonder if there will ever be a time when the domestics put the "wrong" model on an existing make.

I could see people getting pulled into the showroom to see a Camaro with a "Trans Am" package.

Or perhaps a Dodge Barracuda, etc...

This is going to be contentious

However, Iíve found that the majority of Americans have the insane desire, wherever they are on a road with more than 1 lane, is to immediately get into the left hand lane and sit there forever. Thereís no moving or reasoning with you. Lane etiquette in the US is dreadful, truly shocking.

Oh I must get in this lane as this is how grandpa joe taught me 😂 And the only time you move is either 100yards before you have to turn right at an upcoming exit on a highway, or if on a normal road you have to turn left in the next 1000 miles 😂

And woh betide you if you beep in Texas, Texans donít like this, height of bad manners :)

You are a little late leaving for your tee time and your drive includes a long stretch of road where there is no passing. What make and model car would you hate to get stuck behind? ie. What make and model/type of car(s) do you think has the highest probability of making you even later.

I would say.

1) Subaru - Any wagon
2) Toyota Prius
3) Lincoln Town Car

Honda Odyssey.  They have no will to live and aren't in a hurry to arrive anywhere.

The exception is in a school zone.  They are always late picking up junior and drive like maniacs there!

Around here in the desert SW it's an equal opportunity sort of thing, it doesn't tend to have a make/model pattern.  Truthfully if they are driving 5-10 below the limit it's almost guaranteed they are looking at their phone texting or looking at texts.

This times 1000.  In the Pacific Northwest people driving slow in the left lane are brutal.  The further north the plates are from (British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon) the worse the drivers are about going slow in the left lane.

As for cars - 1. any Buick; 2. Toyota Avalon; 3. Prius.

However, I've found that the majority of Americans have the insane desire, wherever they are on a road with more than 1 lane, is to immediately get into the left hand lane and sit there forever. There's no moving or reasoning with you. Lane etiquette in the US is dreadful, truly shocking.

Prius.

Nothing grinds my gears worse than a slow left laner. Don't see it a lot out here in the rural Midwest. Get near a city though and it's ridiculous. It's also way worse on I-55 south of Memphis for some reason but still not awful.

This is going to be contentious

Oh I must get in this lane as this is how grandpa joe taught me 😂 And the only time you move is either 100yards before you have to turn right at an upcoming exit on a highway, or if on a normal road you have to turn left in the next 1000 miles 😂

And woh betide you if you beep in Texas, Texans donít like this, height of bad manners :)

Fire away lol

We have good speed limit. I hate it when I get stuck behind WA drivers or CA drivers ďbombingĒ at 75 and thinking their going left lane speeds when the speed limit is 80. Oy vey!
