I verbaly committed to Utah Valley University about 15 days ago.  Its a DI school with a great coach, Clark Rustand who is the brother of Erik Rustand.  I was real worried about the weather but when it has snow on the ground we have heated hitting bays so we can hit balls.  The snow is off the ground in mid- febuary so after clearing that up is was a no brain desition being the only dI school I was looking at and having a 50% scholarship as a freshmen

I was verbally committed..... does that count........... no I guess not.........

That's great, best of luck, I only wish I had focused on golf when I was younger.... at 38 that's a done dream now, although there's the rush to the late bloomer or mini tours in my 40's............. hopefully....

Good luck and enjoy......

Good luck with the D1 golfing, hope going pro works out for you. My only advice, don't lose the focus of your studies because so much can go wrong in a sporting career and it's never good to not have an alternative. Even if you get offered a spot in the PGA tour first year into uni, just continue playing, maintain the same level, try to get better, play good amateur golf and get your degree, you can still turn pro afterwards.

Good luck

Excellent decision.  Hang in there with your school work.  Unfortunately, the latest statistic I've read regarding college freshmen indicates more than a 50% drop out rate.  If you make it through the 2nd semester of you sophomore year odds are greatly improved.  Being a golfer also increases your odds of success greatly  =)
Good luck!

I am signing my letter this coming monday.
Its an exciting time.  I am really looking forward to getting out of this town and Orem is a really neat place.

I have the Az stroke play starting wensday and for the last 2 weeks I haven't gotten any decent practice because the wind blows like 30 mph EVERYDAY, so I don't think the weather will be a problem since they have an indoor facility
