Own two, an 85029 and Emperor in burning copper. Best putters I own, of about 30, including many customs, Sunset Beach,  and a stable of SC TEI3's. Can't find Yamada website anymore. Heard rumors he retired, but later heard that was not true. However, website is MIA.

Also, read some Yamadas are handmade $550-650, and some are not $300-350. Any info on differences in quality or feel between the two? It's the incredibly soft feel I value most in my Yamadas. Looking to add a few more to my collection. Locating them being main issue at this point.

Thanks for any insights.

Dan

John Muir at  www.clubmaker-online.com  has direct contact with Yamada, and he can get both types -- hand made and machined. But you already have two of Yamada's best.

Thanks guys. I got in touch with John, great guy, and he has some Yamadas in stock, and can order others. They're amazing putters for sure. Might try to order a handmade straight neck Imperial in burning copper. Love that hot butter feel.

He IS a great guy. He got me the last Yamada out of Japan when Obama got his and caused a deluge of orders... and the temporary Yamada "intermission..."  When no one else could get in touch with him, John spoke with him regularly.

He also does interesting builds with all kinds of shafts, including one I had never heard of (Hiskei) which has turned out to be a top performer for me.
