Masterful. New 009s made on new milling machines that require less hand finishing.

Thanks!  I guess that makes them less valuable or desirable, but that micro milling on the sole looks pretty cool!

If so, great! Maybe they'll be around for less than 3-4000 (not hardly). I'd rather have the M. Much better looking than the standard 009.

Why are most of these pros using the M2 vs. the M1?  I don't get it.

I heard he shot 59 (on his home course) the first time he played with the Mizuno irons.  Shouldn't take him long to make that $700k.

I'm actually surprised he didn't go back to a full bag of Titleists.

My question is if this is the start of the wrap around season, do Nike staffers have to carry a Nike bag through the rest of the calendar year?

Seems as though they all are which would leave me to believe the Nike contracts run from 1 January through 31 December.

Correct me if I'm mistaken.

I don't believe that is true. It may also vary depending on each contract. Jhonny Vegas has switched to a generic bag this week with no Nike branding. I believe Rory has said that it is not in his contract that he has to carry a Nike staff bag, but he does so anyway.

Good question. I have wondered this as well. My best guess here is that they choose the M2 because they have the ability to adjust weighting/weight placement using hot melt in the tour van instead of needing the T tracks on the M1.

Vegas has used that "generic" bag for well over a year, in fact may be two years.  So he did not just change.

Rory had some special bags done that he used for a few tournaments each and then they were auctioned off to raise money for his charity but other then those, he has used a Nike bag.

I think it's rep based more than anything. I don't think the JPX's live up to the MP level of feel. For me, Srixon has been as good, if not better, in the feel aspect over the years.

I wonder if Mizuno will be working with Nick on a bag deal?

Seems like a lot of guys don't go M1 in a 3 wood but yet they do in a 5 wood. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

I have also noticed this, I think they probably prefer a smaller 5-wood head.
I found the 5 wood -2* way easier to hit than the 3 wood in any setting. Interesting!

I heard he shot 59 (on his home course) the first time he played with the Mizuno irons.  Shouldn't take him long to make that $700k.

Lol, love that this story is going around. Seeing you are from Atlanta, I can guess why it is being talked about. Im not sure if it was the first time out with them but the 59 in a friendly round was legit.
