I just got a notice from the USGA that the maximum allowable handicap index for entrants to the US Men's Public Links has been dropped from 8.4 to 4.4.

This move certainly won't affect who makes the field, or who wins, but it will certainly impact the number of people who enter qualifiers.

There goes the dream of playing in the Masters for a few thousand folks...
