I went to a Marshall's store yesterday and they had a Ogio "flight" shling bag on clearance for $39. I looked at this thing and decided to purchase it. I have seen pro's and con's about the shling carry system, but this bag really looked good for the money.
I bought one at marshalls when it was 79 (still a good deal), but returned it when i couldnt get the schling to fit my shoulders...the bag itself is the perfect freakin' bag, but the schling really dug in, and i wasnt sure if i could put a regular double strap on.
I bought the same bag, you can e-mail Ogio and they will send you a free double strap to fit the flight bag. I did the same thing a while ago, and they didn't even charge me for shipping. I live in Canada, but I'm sure US customer service would do the same.
That price is great even if you used it as a umbrella stand.
Not for most people I think.
Have been useing mine since they were first out. Great walkers bag. But not that lite when loaded. Picked up two of those seatbelt comfort things out of the sale bin at walgreens slaped it around the one end the other around the neck area. Nice thing is how easy the straps come off for use in a cart.
Got the same one and immediately removed the schling and added an Izzo dual strap system. They can be had for cheap on ebay (Example Item number: 310018093309), and work great.
I'm definitely going to try to contact Ogio to try and get the matching strap though...
I had a Vision, thought the Schling worked great. It was just too heavy for me to use as a daily walking bag, especially when it get's hot. I saw those bags for $79 at Marshalls, I may need to see if there are any stragglers at $39.
I grabbed the last one in the marshalls colsest to the office, i dont think any one can complain about a $39 Ogio bag especially if you can email them for the double strap instead of the schling.
Got an Ogio Vision at Marshall's in Pittsburgh for $49. They had one Vision and about 4 Flights which were $10 less-$39. The Vision is heavier but nicer imo. I would have definitely bought a Flight, however, if they didn't have the Vision. Both are great bags, especially at those prices.
Overall it's a good bag and a steal at $39. I have used mine since I got it for Christmas 2006. However, I am not please with the wear and tear. I had a strap rip, the grab handle ripped and the top has worn out from clubs going in and out. Ogio has ofered a replacement at 50% off if I return the bag (great service) or a free replacement with receipt but the new 2008 models do not have the schling. I like the schling and I am a biger guy. I have heard alot who don't like it. It did take some time to fit it just right but after 2 or 3 rounds walking I had it dialed in just right.
Based on earlier posts, I gather the best feature of the Schling is just how easy it comes off
(and gets thrown away)
After reading this thread I had to see if I could find one of these bags. I found a Marshalls and found the bags..there were two left. I picked one up and honestly could not see what the fuss is all about. To me it felt like a piece of junk. Ogio makes a great bag but this seems like a swing and a miss. For $39 I guess it would be ok. But pay no more than that!
Edit: I bought the bag! Like I said..for $39...why not
I picked up a flight back when they were $59. The marshalls here in downtown Boston has one red flight left. The tag says $49, but if you argue that other stores have it for $39, they will match it.
ive heard mixed reviews... i work in retail and ive never actually sold one given the initial "severe discomfort" however i randomly ran into a guy in an elevator one time and lo and behold he had an ogio shling golf bag next to him. seizing the opportunity i actually asked someone who'd used one what he thought of it and he said it made a big difference in posture and he said he couldnt be happier with it... personally i havent used the system but i think that if it works with your shoulder type it'd be worth buying... otherwise save the 40 $ and make a down payment on a sun mountain...
