Like the Z-star but for me it's too expensive...........if this Q-Star tour is $25 or so per box it might be worth a try

Not going to happen since $25/dozen is the price of the 2-piece surlyn QStar. If the UK prices are any indication, the QStar Tour should start around $35-$40/dozen here in the states.

Which would lead me to not bothering to try them............was more wishful thinking

Yeah, much smarter than using a ball that could benefit your game.

DSG has a revamped Trispeed Tour on shelves. $29.99 if I recall correctly.  I was considering giving them a try as I liked the "old" version, but haven"t found one single review of this new version.

Out of my price range! Going to be $40-45/dz plus 13% tax here in Canada?! Play better with a 2 piece ball anyways. ;)

Good. They originally told me it would only be in white.  I play a zstar xv in yellow, but the Qstar is a great ball. If the tour is softer like the new one coming out then it might be a ball I will try, if and when it comes out in yellow.

Read on another forum that it was mentioned on twitter that Srixon is not putting out the Q Tour in yellow until the next release. Which I believe they are on a 2 yr cycle. So 2019.

There is a Yellow Qstar still... this is the Qstar Tour.  Basically a bridge ball between the Qstar and the Zstar.
Your Q Star will still be there, and the ball is only changing with the new Spin Skin 3.  So you shouldn't be able to any difference between it and the current ball.

The QStar is a Great ball.  I don't spin the ball with the wedges or the irons worth a damn, but spin the shizniz out of my woods... So I use the ZstarXV, as it doesn't spin a ton off the Driver, but stops with the wedges.  I will more than likely never be a rip it back kind of guy

I tried the Q-Star, Chrome Soft, E6, NXT, B330RX , Project A, just for the heck of it and none of them worked for my game at all. I thought I was going to hit them like 20 yards further but I ended up losing distance. Haha. They all feel deflated to me. They may work well for some people. Ball fitting is important now.

I talked with the Srixon guy and the Q Star tour is like a Z Star soft.  If you have average club head speed it will be a great ball.  If you are over 100 mph. Not so much.  Better to play the z Star at that point.

Not good energy transfer with the softer core on this one? Was excited for a cheaper urethane ball

Really looking forward to trying these. It's going to be these or the B'Stone E6 Soft for this year. I might do a head to head review when they're released.

thats a sales pitch due to all the swing speed sales tactics from different companies.  If that was the case, Keegan Brandley wouldn't be playing the Zstar, he would only play the XV and vice versa for Graham McDowell.

I have a 110 MPH SS with the driver and I can, and do on occasion, play a QStar without any problems due to my Swing Speed.  I have hit some MONSTER drives with it, and one of my best drives ever was with the last model of Qstar.  I prefer the Zstar but if I needed to, I could play the Q without too much problem.  I prefer the ZstarXV to it due to feel on the putter (softer and less click) and I don't spin the ball very much with my irons (i tend to hit a hair behind the ball even on my good strikes) so the extra spin helps.

We were talking from a performance standpoint.  I've played the q Star before too.  But with higher SS you won't get all the true performance that the ball is designed for since you are swinging faster than what was intended. Don't get me wrong I'm going to try them out too.  But was told I would see less side spin and trajectory would be different since I'm swinging higher than what the ball was designed for.

With the Z-star getting a little softer this year (too soft IMO) the Q star is going to be even softer than that.  Most likely will not suit my game but for those who want a ultra soft urethane ball I am sure it will get good reviews.

I thought the Project A - B330RXS and Wilson Duo U were all way to mushy and suspect these will be in that genre.

The lower side spin is, even with my higher speed, is where I will get the most out of it...  I don't think my SS being what it is hurts me, because I don't hit it enough "on the screws"  if you follow me... I can catch one just off center from perfect and the thing goes a mile.  but I don't know if I have ever caught anything dead on perfect... (the way I have been swinging lately, I would highly doubt it)

i think that my lousy contact (hence the fact that I have a handicap) makes a large bit of difference of my swing speed and actual contact....

Trial packs are supposed to be out early April. Bought a couple z stat packs couldn't beat it for 10 dollars. Was hoping q star packs will be cheaper.
