I love the 4 iron in this set.  I use it as a driving iron off the tee and usually get between 230-255.  I have a MP H5 2 iron and I can't hit it within 20 yards of the 900 forged 4 iron.  I would love Mizuno to add a 3 iron to this set.  The 4 iron has 21 degrees of loft so a 3 iron at 18 would be a perfect addition to the set. For me the thin face/boron jpx line hits farther and feels better than the hollow body MP H5 - FliHi lines.  Anyone else have these same results?

I have the MP-H4 2 iron and although its a great club, I would agree that the JPX 900 forged 4-iron can get pretty close in distance to it.  I know they have the new Flihi irons for long irons to try.  I wouldn't mind seeing a JPX 2 iron (or now strong 3 iron) with 18 degrees of loft.

I don't want a super wide sole or protruding back on my irons.  I think the boron technology in the JPX line can make a 2 iron look thin and player like while keeping distance and forgiveness up.  Hopefully Vosh is reading this.

I disliked the H5; it just felt horrible and wasn't very long. For rid of it within a week.

Lastly, the H5 was not forged which disabled the ability to bend the lie and loft to fit with my iron set.

A 2 iron should be hot off the face.  The H5 is not hot or long.

Awesome to hear.  I just reshafted mine cause I don't think I was fit with the right shafts...but the club feels great and looks great.

I have a set of mint Ping S55s that sit in a bag in my golf room.  After a practice session with my 900 forged I will grab a Ping and hit a few shots. Amazing how much better the Mizunos feel and sound at impact and they look just as good at address.  The P-8 are almost identical in looks imo.  Truly a perfect club for those who want the look and feel of a players forged iron with a ton of forgiveness and distance built in.  I also still love my 900 forged.

I picked up the 4 and 5 fli hi for giggles.  Thinking about filling in a 6-PW set with these.

Funny, when these came out I totally wrote them off because I assumed they would look like the 850 Forged, which they don't.  Seem to setup more like the recent MP line formula.

Would love to hear if your new fli hi clubs fit in bag well with 900 forged.  Also, how long are they compared  to 900 forged?  I have thought about buying an 18 degree fli hi to finish off my bag for this year.

I rolled with the 4-5-6 fli-hi, and 7-P 900F at the sim today, also played that combo for 2 rounds last season, was great.

I just get a bit more launch and spin with the LZ shafts in my MP18's with the MMC and MB.

The 900F is one heck of a back up set to have. I am not worried about the new JPX line coming this fall, so should be set on irons until at least the next MP release in Fall of 2019.

Mizuno's JPX 900 line last Fall, and MP18 line this Fall, are just flat knocked out of the park.

Excited to see new JPX line this August.  Not sure what could do to improve on the 900 series though.  Maybe improve spin on 900 forged long irons?

I was fit for the JPX 900 forged, and was amazed with the 4 iron at the fitting.  So long and accurate.  Unfortunately I didnt get in my set, b/c I had just shafted a Srixon U45 I wanted to give an honest chance to.

I've since moved on from the JPX 900 forged, I originally told the fitter that I didnt even want to try the C Taper 130's, as I didnt get along with them despite the shaft optimizer saying they were the best choice.  After hitting everything and pretty close to deciding on one, he talked me into trying that.  It was easily the best shaft option of the day, and i went with it.

Most days it was great, but what I have always struggled with that shaft came up.  Just replaced them at the end of the season, but if the 3/4 iron in my new set (baby blades) dont work out, I think I'm going to pick up the 4 iron as a utility.  Its as long as any that I've hit, feels better and for me seemed during the limited time of my fitting more forgiving.

Looking for overall comparisons of the JPX forged to the new MP lines specifically the SC's and fli hi compared to the JPX hot metal which I carry a 5 iron.  I love my set but man these new MP's look delicious.  Any feedback appreciated thanks

I would compare the MP18SC to the 900T.

The 900F may be to the MMC but we arenít really comparing apples to apples.

I was looking at the MMC and Hi Fli only to stretch out my 900T 3 iron (lofted at 21* sometimes 20*) and add a 2 iron. At the end of the day, the MP line is still hard to hit.

If you are hitting the HM 5 iron well, I would stretch out to the 4 iron. Pass the 4, you may have to find a utility around the 20*oft since there is no HM or 900F 3 iron.

Mizuno really messed up the longer irons. For example, a 2 FH is 16.5* which is no manís land because I would just hit a 3 wood.

The 3 FH is loft at 19* which is wolf in sheep clothing for a 2 iron on a 3 iron shaft.

Thereís no way Iím putting (2) 3 irons shafts in my bag.

Hate to say this, I've read a lot of this new MP line and everyone is all over the place on what their bagging and I'm not 100% that everyone is happy.  I'm seriously considering the new PXG Gen 2 irons when they are released soon.

LOL, is anyone ever 100% happy with their bag on this site?

The MP18 series is amazing, just have to figure out how it will work for you.  I played the 900F most of last year, had 2 sets, fantastic irons, still have my set with Modus 125.

I happened to demo the MMC and Fli-hi last spring and fell in love with the fli-hi.  I am a bit of a low ball hitter.  The 4i kicked out my 4H instantly, just really took a liking to the fli-hi, so went 4-6.  The reason I went 7-8 MMC is gapping.  The 900F have stronger lofts, and wanted them closer.  There was almost nothing in it between the MMC and SC for me, so the slightly stronger loft was ideal in MMC, but I like smaller scoring irons, so did the MB in 9-P 1* strong.

I am 110% happy with my set.

I know you are infatuated with PXG, and the possible new release, would advise to go MP18 and enjoy all that extra cash you have.

Probably will in the end.  No doubt Mizuno in my opinion probably makes the best feeling irons out there.  Im convinced that if money was off the table, 90% of the pros out there would have them in the bag.  My head hurts trying to understand this new line of clubs they came out with though and yeah, everyone is all over the place with them.  You read all these posts and your eyes start to glaze over.  Omg.  Thanks for the reply.  How can one not be somewhat intrigued though on the new Gen 2's about to release though.

how low of spin are these?? I always struggle with bigger irons i can't get any decent spin numbers on them.

These with PX 6.0 are calling my name but Im not sure I would be a good fit.

how low of spin are these?? I always struggle with bigger irons i can't get any decent spin numbers on them.

These with PX 6.0 are calling my name but Im not sure I would be a good fit.

Go hit them on a simulator and see!

They might be slightly bigger than the AP2, but not that noticeable.  I think they are quite a bit more forgiving than the AP2, but I never found the AP2 to be that forgiving.  I would say these are between the AP2 and AP1 in terms of forgiveness, but feel so much better than both.

No.

Mizuno releases in September every year.  MP in odd years, JPX in even years.  You can order new lines and usually get them delivered the last week of September.

We may see them in August.

For me, they felt better, gave me more distance, and more control than the AP2 and a lot more forgiving overall. The JPX900 series is so good I was flirting with the JPX900 Tour for a while, I ended up settling on the JPX850 Forged which also outperformed the AP2.

I ultimately decided to settle due to the price, since the investment was more than I wanted for a temporary set. I plan to purchase the MP-18 MMC's when they become a little bit more reasonable to my budget.

JPX Forged are good clubs.  You can buy them now at a reasonable price due to them trying to get them off the shelves.
