I've played mostly with the non-slope face plate, but recently started messing around with the yellow slope one.  I'm finding that the slope is not calibrated well, meaning that even a flat shot shows up as downhill (less yards) and downhill shots are wayyyy downhill.  Is there a way to calibrate this or otherwise re-zero it?  I haven't been successful in finding anything on this.

I could be wrong, but maybe you didn't change the other settings like, average yardage for club, elevation, temp, etc. I'm not sure if they would have an effect on the slope number.I think it may

I've never had that issue with 2 devices (4i and 4i2).  Check your temperature and elevation settings.  If nothing wonky there, then you may need to have Leupold service it.

My 4i works great, it's the most important thing in my bag. I played with it a bit when I first got it but its pretty much point and shoot for me. I do think some people (not necessarily you?) don't realize the gentle uphill or downhill shots will show 5-7 yards of slope that they do not see. I find mine to be very accurate.

I hear you, but I played one round with another guy who had one, and our slope yardages were wayyyyy off.  His seemed much more believable.  But, our normal yardages were within a yard of each other.

Extremely old thread, but I've experienced the same thing.  Flat holes almost always show as downhill. That said, I'm 6'3, so I wonder if height has anything to do with it.
