I recently bought the SM 5.5 and am very happy with it however I can't stop looking at the Players 5 Stand Bag in Sea Glass/Charcoal/Papaya.  I know it's a bright colorway but I love it.

By the way, aside from the occasional Pro V1, NOTHING in my bag is Titleist.  What are your thoughts on having a branded bag that doesn't match anything in it?

Game what ever bag you want! I game a Guinness bag, but it does not have any Guinness in it.

I'm worse than that. I have a Titleist bag even though I don't own a single club or ball or anything else Titleist. And it prominently features the logo for a golf club of which I'm no longer a member.

I considered buying the same bag with my current club's logo on it but that just seems a total waste of better part of 200 bucks. Don't have that kind of money to blow for no good reason.

Most of my clubs are Ping and I briefly bought a Ping stand bag a few years ago. Ping make great clubs but their stand mechanism is awful. Never again. I could get a Sun Mountain somewhat similar to my Titleist but hey, I don't have any Sun Mountain clubs either!

I was told January is when these will actually hit the stores, which is kind of dumb to go after the holidays but that's what I was told.  I am with you though on the Players 5....  I can't wait to see that bag in person, it seems like it's exactly what I am looking for.  Lots of people bag the Hoofer without a Ping club, carry what you want!!

I have the 2016 model Staff Stand Bag and actually prefer its design to the 2017.  2017 added the top grip handle but aesthetically think I like the 2016 better.  Either way I'm a fan of the Staff Stand Bags in general due to the roomier pockets.

A really neat feature of the new stand bags is a detachable strap system that would allow the user (or seller) to swap out the double backpack strap for a single strap.  This ability is very important for clubs that still use caddie programs (caddies hate double backpack straps) or for the consumer that wants a stand bag but doesn't walk making a single strap a more logical choice.  Overall construction of the new Titleist bags (and all model years since punting Sun Mountain as their manufacturer, 2015?) are phenominal.

IMHO the Titleist stand bags are some of the highest quality bags on the market.  I use a 2016 Ultralightweight "caddie" bag (single strap as compared to double backpack style) and with all 14 clubs and normal stuff in pockets (not overloaded) it will stand vertical on its own...straight up!  Their bags are much more sturdy than the other products on the market.  If you're concerned with longevity and quality of construction I believe they are some of if not the best on the market.

Still trying to get my head around them only having a 9.5 staff bag? Is there any indication that there might be a 10.5 as well? There has been a 10.5 for as long as I can remember and I would have been looking to change to a new 10.5 if there was going to be one available.

The listing shows a 5-way top cuff, however the picture looks like a 4 way top cuff. I'd love to get some clarification on the number of dividers.  Also kind of intrigued by the magnetic pocket but ultimately zippers are going to be more secure and how often do you actually open the pocket? Anyone have any experience with the "tour inspired magnetic pocket"

I'm torn on the aesthetics of the bag, can't decide which one looks better based on the picture on the catalog, but a 5-way top cuff sure would be nice, but I'm skeptical that it may have just been an error.

I've wanted a Staff Stand, either Titleist or TaylorMade, for as long as they've been a thing... I just with 14-way was an option.  The same goes for full size staff bags as well, unless I'm just using it for bulk club storage and then I actually wand the 4/5/6-way.  More than anything, I wish some of the Japanese compact/mini/caddy staff bags would make their way to the US.  I might actually carry an 8.5" streamlined staff bag, but not a bulging 10.5" or even 9.5".

Agree, but I want leather/pu... at least partially.  The Mizuno Pro Cart bag is the closest non-JDM I've found to a mini/caddy bag, and it's still 10". it's also not that much less expensive than just importing one

I saw pictures of the new stand bags, and they are quite a bit lighter than the 2016 lightweight stand bags. The 2016 lightweight stand bag weighs as much as the lightweight stand bag. I have the 2016 lw stand bag, and it is too heavy for me to carry I can only walk with it if I use a push cart.

That said, the older models of the Lightweight Stand Bag are very nice push-cart bags. Extremely roomy and well thought out in terms of pocket placement and the way the dividers work IMO. I'm fine carrying mine for nine holes once in a blue moon but yeah I'd use something lighter if I didn't push-cart it 99% of the time.

That is exactly the way I use mine. Works great on my Bag Boy Quad XL, wit a max of 9 hole carry.

I haven't really found a cart bag that works any better than my 2015-vintage Titleist Lightweight on my push cart. Even the 14-way bag made expressly to fit on my push cart by the same manufacturer isn't as convenient to use. Being able to grab it and carry on the spur of the moment is a plus but it's just a well-designed bag (and pretty sturdy which is probably why it ain't so light!).
A sensible man will realize that the eyes may be confused in two ways---by a change from light to darkness or from darkness to light; and he will recognize the same thing happens to the soul.

They are very nice bags but I don't like the three-way top. It doesn't organize the clubs as well as a four-way top. I really like the 2017 Taylormade Flextech Lite carry bag.

Agree, wonder why they made it 3-way, a 4-way would have been more practical.

Anyone have the Players 5 Sta Dry bag? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. I think it would be a good investment since I live in the NW. I have last years 14 way and like it but a water proof option has me thinking.

saw the new lineup today in my LGS. after picking my tongue off the ground, and wiping the drool of my shirt, I thought for sure I'd take 1 home. Did the usual inspections then decided on the 5 way. BUT THEN, I checked into the new strap system, and despite Mr. Pga's opinion above, this was a deal killer. The way the 2 straps intersect is a PITA. I threw some clubs in the bag and walked around. The straps aren't very stable and I can see myself fussing with them everytime I looped them onto my shoulder. For those who walk, really take a good look at the straps with some weight in the bag before buying. Also the straps are attached to the upper portion of the bag with plastic clips, something else to break and then you're screwed. Is it me or does it seem like there's less capacity each year? The raincover alone takes up a good half of the lower pocket. A windbreaker, don't even bother. On the plus side, some sealed zippers which is useful for us in climates that actually carry the aforementioned raincover, and also did notice some internal pockets/webbing within the pockets to keep some smaller items secure.
