For those of you who have played with these already, I'd like to hear your take, especially if you played with the previous batch from last year. I'm new to KSigs, so I can't speak to how these compare to the originals. But, I've played a few rounds with these new ones and idk... It's just super super spinney and I'm getting a lot of shots just ballooning up instead of following a true arch. Slices gear right like crazy. I'm not a low handicapper by any means, and I've learned my lessons playing and losing Pro V1s, but these feel way more unwieldy than even Pro V's. Idk, maybe I've just been playing like s**t for the last few rounds, but I'm not super impressed by these. Anybody else feel the same way?

I've played 8 rounds with the new batch and they play exactly the same as far as I can tell.  My batch had the slightly different box graphics as well

There is no “new batch” that was just Tony Covey spouting b.s.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

The ones I got and the ones they sell at the local Costco are the "original" ones.  I don't know if there is a "new" ball out!  I did see something that someone posted about the top area of the sleeve's box being blue instead of black where is  says "Kirkland" but not sure if that is a new ball or just new packaging.  The local ones are still black.  See pics below for sleeve difference!

<sigh> This was covered earlier in this thread. The packaging changed for this most recent release of the ball. The ball itself did not change. It is still the same 4 piece urethane covered 360 dimple ball with the same side stamp that Costco has sold since October of 2016. If the ball itself had changed in any way it would have been listed differently on the USGA conforming ball list. It has not. If that is not enough somebody here at WRX cut the ball open again and it is the same as before. Pictures are in this thread. Relax. You got the same ball as everybody else did. Costco (Kirkland) does have other balls listed on the USGA conforming ball list but none of them have made it to retail. Yet.

150 rounds in 24 months is weak...I get 150 rounds yearly no problem..."THESE COSTCO BALLS", they're called the K-Sig around these parts, have only been out for a little over a year, so your first 12 months I can understand you having no luck in spotting one...But when you do spot one, magic!!!!

Well I've played nearly 250 rounds since the KIRKLAND Signature ball first hit the scene. Yet to see one. Haven't seen a Snell or an MG ball either. I have seen a Cut once and Vice 3-4 times.

And by "seen" I mean seen being played or found lying in the rough or anywhere else I might encounter it.

At a lot of places, such as my club, any ball that doesn't say "Titleist", "Callaway" or "Bridgestone" on it is going to be pretty few and far between. The public courses in my area seem to have a lot of Noodle and Wilson, the occasional Maxfli or Top Flite and also plenty of Titleist and Callaway, seldom Bridgestone.

My point being, how often you see what ball depends almost entirely on the particular courses you play and who you regularly play with.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

If and when some other version of the K-Sig actually goes on sale, you're not going to need to ask "Is it the same ball". There will immediately be 100's of posts here and one or more front-page writeups on GolfWRX about it, not to mention other sites.

Right or wrong, it's easy to understand the dedicated enthusiasm for a product... but I find it much harder to fathom the devoted vitriol.
Why bother?  No one is being enriched from the experience.

What is the percentage of "vitriol" in this thread over the past six months? How many of the last 1,000 posts have said anything negative about the quality or performance of the K-Sig ball? Ten? Maybe twenty or thirty? A couple percent?

There is more disparagement of imaginary "vitriol" than actual disparagement of the K-Sig ball, as far as I can see.

It's one thing to be a big, big, big fan of a product. It's quite another to feel obliged to make up imaginary attacks on your favored product just so you can defend it.

Was does percentage have to do with either the existence or persistence of it? That is what I find hard to understand.... it seems like such a waste of time that benefits no one. After 373 pages... it would seem much easier to simply let it go regardless of the percentages.

To clear the record of where I personally stand on the Ksigs. I think they are fine but not my favorite ball... I don't even use them. I did try a dozen but I can find others more readily available and just as good (if not better) for just a bit more so no big deal to me.

I would assume by repeatedly asking questions such as, "Has anyone seen them in stores lately in North-Central Idaho?" and "Any news yet on whether the new one will be M-H or H-L?".

It's worked for the last 100 or so...

Then let it go and quit complaining about the (mostly non-existent) complaints.

Lol NB... we obviously have different perspectives on this one. But why not just answer the question? Why bother? Why not just explain to everyone the good purpose and cause behind the need for the continued denigration so that we can all understand. It's the negativity that should be explained, not the questioning of the need for it.

I have never had a bad thing to say about K-Sig. it is a good quality ball and a great, great value. On the rare occasions it is available, anyway.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

I completely agree. You have been, by my observation, neutral as to their actual quality. I actually agree with you too, that there are equally good values on equally good or better balls to be had if you shop around. I thought that was a great point actually.

I also do feel that there is a great deal of unusual fanaticism surrounding the Ksig, but fail to understand the need for the continued negative postings by those who do so. (No need to include yourself here)

It's just simply perplexing to me

I think when you finish a Post with something like “on the rare occasion it is available...”it implies negativity to me...implies the Hall was released in very small numbers and few actually have the ball. But I have the ball. I think a lot of people do. I know from previous posts that you haven’t tried the ball and don’t seem to care to ever try it...so why participate in the forum other than to have some strange baiting discussion?  My biggest question for you or anyone else who frequently writes about the ball but has never and likely will never try it. Again. I know (or think I know) that you like comparing different urethane covered balls on the course as I do. Why not try it?  It’s not Costco hatred. Not ksig hatred. What is it?  You certainly seem fascinated with the ball. Even more than many of us who love it.  It won’t cure cancer despite some claims but I have read this forum because I like hearing what others think about ksig vs...

And regarding this (though nothing to do with you nb) is why we have to hear from so many regarding when the “real truth” will come out. Now I freely admit I am obsessed with the true story that Dean snell recently promised (if allowed legally of course) on a separate ball forum. I personally don’t think we will ever know the truth. My only hope is that the titleist legal action prompts some release of the truth from someone regarding what ball was “copied” Everyone says the ball was copied but nobody can cut any ball innhalf that looks similar?  So what was it copied from?

Well on this forum if somebody posted “boy, that Jack Nicklaus sure did when a lot of majors” at least a couple of people would disagree and claim he’s overrated or something!

I think the KSig is a great ball and have no issue with those who are critical of it or it's availability.  We all have personal preferences and brand allegiances.  What I do have an issue with is when personal agendas are masked in the form of criticism to disparage a product or company.

At this point anyone that is aware of KSig and wanted to buy some golf balls should have been able to do so.  Everyone is aware they come from Costco, so a simple check of a bookmarked link on the Costco golf ball webpage can alert you to their availability.   They are a 4 layer ball with a urethane cover sold for $15 per dozen, making them quite a value, especially given their tested performance.

If someone prefers a Pro V1, TP5X, Snell, Vice  or any other premium ball it's perfectly reasonable to do so, without having to knock the KSig.

Right or wrong, it's easy to understand the dedicated enthusiasm for a product... but I find it much harder to fathom the devoted vitriol.
Why bother?  No one is being enriched from the experience.

I'm with you.  The negative attacks are stupid and, oddly, not against the performance of the ball.  It's the, "the ball will never come back and you're fools for getting sucked in" or "I've never seen anybody play the ball before."  Just weird.

NB, did you miss the 'I've never seen anybody play this ball and I've played X rounds' followed by 'the next time I need 2 gallons of mayo....?'  That's called vitriol.
