I have a Bettinardi and a few Scotty's, but right now I'm gaming a SC X5 dual balance. I love the way it rolls and its been in my bag for longer then any other putter. I really want to have some civic pride and game a putter thats made locally, but i just don't really like the inovai 3.0. One day I will make my way to tinley park and get a custom putter.

Toulon feels way better to me then either Betti honeycomb face or fly milled or the SC new insert. About even with the few year old SC selects with the milled face. But I like the look and roll of the Toulon better.

Can anyone talk to the durability of the 2014 BB1 silver PVD finishes? The head over appears to be a slip on so I am not overly concerned with the Velcro wearing on it

Yes, which gives them the immediate means to release more models.

So I see everyone says, "I went with Scotty or Betti because it simply feels better."  I get that, but can anyone put into words what that "feel" is and what model they used to get that feel?

The reason I ask is because I currently game a Select Newport 2.  I have putted with this putter for 2 seasons and I've rolled some really good putts but I've had my share of clankers as well.  I hear some people say putters being too soft.  This is how I would describe my Newport 2 (I want to try a firm face).  I am looking for something with a hard face that pops off a lot more for a comparison.  I have a used BB1 (2016) on the way because I read that this is a very firm face with the honey comb vs the deep milled Scottys.  I live in South Dakota and I see no one gaming Bettis (I'm sure there are some out there I just haven't seen them).  I also play at a semi-private club and everyone I've played with I've seen no Bettis.

I don't see many talking big about the BB series and I've never seen nor played a Betti so I'm anxious to test it out.  Scottys, Odysseys and Taylormade I have had experience testing.  Long story short, what model are you all playing and what feel do you prefer?

As a side note I also have a Odyssey RSX 001 on the way for comparison as well.

From what you described I would recommend a DASS model. I find the carbon is just too soft for me. I would also recommend the honeycomb face because that face is the hardest. I have used one that fits this description for over a decade.

Thought I'd give you an update.  Received my BB1 today and just hit 10 putts on carpet.  Not only does it line up better than my Newport 2 but I love the head shape.  I love the pronounced "click" off the honeycomb face and it's not mushy like my Cameron.  I'm a Betti Believer so far!  Pretty sweet for my first time trying one.  Was not expecting all these positives.  Granted it's carpet but it's outperforming my Newport 2 in the process.

Bettinardi. Never really cared for Scottys. Something just never felt right. Switch to taylormade then learned what kind of feel I like and switched to a studio stock 12. Just bought a bb43. And will probably buy a bb1 befre the week is up.

I own both. They are both great putters and I honestly go back and forth on both. I'm partial to Scotty's older carbon putters and Bettinardi's fit face. I'm currently gaming a AOP Coranado 2/ AOP NP 2

I like both, but only the older carbon and PP Scotty offerings. Betti's are just as good if not better. Current Bettindardi offerings ARE BETTER. It seems that Bettinardi is putting out higher quality, better price point putters than Scotty. IMO, the newer SC offerings are gimmicky and junk. You have to blow upwards of $2500 to get a no frills carbon putter from Scotty. No thanks. This thread reminds me that I need to make the 5 hour trek to Bettinardi and get a custom putter soon!

I used to game a Scotty napa but fell in love with a mizuno bc7. Introduced me to bettys and now game a studio stock 6. I just feel like there's more precision and passion that goes into his putters, plus I like to root for the underdog.

The old Betti/Mizunos were great putters -- definitely got me on team Bettinardi as well.
