I'm missing the 9-iron to finish my set of 1964 MacGregor FC4000 M2Ts. Unfortunately I live in New Zealand so the cost of shipping would make your hair stand on end.

Steve, what would your guess be to ship one iron from Arizona to  NZ?  I think I have your iron?  How would I find out?

Fellaheen offered to send me a similar club a few weeks ago. He got a quote for Fedex for expedited shipping (apparently no other option) of about $190!

I was in the US a couple of months ago and sent the FC4000s home to NZ (I bought them on Ebay and initially got them shipped to a friend in San Diego) via USPS - cost about $95 from memory.

We're a long way away down here...

Oh and UK based, so Iron Finder and the like make it insanely expensive to ship.  Probably more than the value of the whole bloody set.

Hello All,

I'm on the hunt for the 5 iron match to this set of 70's Wilson X31s.  I posted a photo of the 7 iron to prove they do indeed exist (trust me, it's a 7 iron, not a 4), lol.  Gotta love that 70's font and silver ferrule.  Stiff Power Groove Plus fluted shaft, but certainly not picky.  No luck finding either the matching 5 or similar vintage Hagen (pretty much a dead ringer).

Thanks,

Dave

well, when you have multiple sets it happens!! Been looking for these Sabers for awhile. Finally getting around to putting some Hogan sets together and amazing what is missing when you get down to it, Hogan Precision has subtle difference in the years between crescents , rings and hosel lengths.
I am also noticing some of the numbers stamps on sole are different sizes with same hosel and same make and model year. Must have made different forging casts??

Aw heck Fella you only live once-- Reshaft it with a virgin R-300 do not tip butt cut to length only maybe bump it up from 17* to 19* and watch her cook. You may need about 8 grams of lead tape in the muscle towards the sole to make it fly a little and kick the shaft some. Look at the modern driving irons they do just that  in a different way. In fact that is the same specs I built the Hogan 2 iron PD gave me except NO lead tape that Hogan Apex head was about 6 grams heavier than any Mac 1 or 2 iron I have and that thing rocks!  that Hogan was dead on 19* and I left it there.
