Has anyone ever purchased a value grade club from Global Golf?  They have a sand wedge that goes with my iron set and I'm wondering how rough it might be.

I don't know why anyone would buy a wedge with value rating. That's like buying a wedge that you have to replace.
IMO all wedges should be bought new or like demo new. They are the fastest wearing club and most important for scoring and being sharp

Actually I'll throw my 2 cents in. I just purchased a Value SM6 and it looks new. I felt like I could take a chance on it because its an SM6 and I thought it would be hard for someone to really screw up a wedge that new. Your luck may vary on older wedges but I am very pleased with my club and definitely think they err on the side of caution because they don't want returns.

I'll provide another counter-point to the earlier points, and of course YMMV and every club will be different.  I've probably purchased 10 value condition clubs this past year, and I have not been disappointed in any of them as long as I could tolerate some cosmetic blemishes.  That said, a set of value condition 714 AP1's had 4 irons in shrink-wrap and 4 that were lightly hit a few times.  No less than very good condition in fact.  A few hybrids and fairway woods, even old ones like a Rapture V2 hybrid, had very clean faces but sure, had some marks on the crown that I touched up with a sharpie.  If those blemishes bother you, then stay away.

Bottom line for me, if it is a club that I am really trying to just get the lowest price on and willing to take a chance, I go value condition without hesitation.  If I was buying a specific combo that I knew was "the one" for me and would be my gamer, then sure, I'd step up to a higher grade.  As many of my purchases are just to give a club a shot for fun, knowing that I can trade it back in or sell it, I am just fine going with value condition.

All of that said (generally speaking), with a wedge, as per the OP's question, I might have a bit more hesitation going less than very good condition.

I almost always buy value (except prob wedges or putters) and I've been pretty pleased. Just got a 915H for like $48 to the door and it looks great. There are a few pop marks but I'm happy

If you can buy them from Globalgolf at mint condition, do it. It's almost brand new if not new.

I feel like the rating skews for lefties too. Value seems to be clubs that were actually played. Good are demos and anything above that has been typically new. The only time I hesitate to buy value is with woods because they seem to have paint damage more times than not.

Yeah if mine is in bad shape (hope not) I'm just going to send it off to Continental Golf. I had the 2 deep last year and it was a bomber/ fairway finder for me. The price was too good to pass up.

I actually do not care too much for woods being messed up unless it's major damage. Even tho my gamer (R15) is in pretty good condition. The only thing that matters is there are sky marks on the crown that you can see and they're distracting. I understand some normal marks but if it's out of control that's when I'd send it back. Hard to argue value rating tho. The price is killer sometimes

I bought a SM2 60* wedge in value for $20.  I don't use a lob wedge that much, but wanted to have one to mess around with.  It had the ball mark wear on the face and cosmetic wear over all the wedge, but grooves were still sharp.

Just bought a set of Machspeed irons in value condition for $75.  They've definitely been played, but not abused. Hardly any wear to the faces, but all the clubheads were still dirty with dried mud, grass, etc.  They look much better after being cleaned. The shafts and grips are fine. I'm pleased with the purchase - not better than expected really, but better than their example photos portray.

Adams Red hybrid came a day early.  Topline looks perfect, a few little wear marks on the face and sole, but you can tell it's only been hit off a mat.  A bunch of green schmutz left on the sole from range mats but it scrubbed right off.  It's not mint, but I'd have no problem calling it good to almost very good.  Another great deal from Global Golf

Since their merger with 3balls, they consistently rate almost all clubs as value. I've noticed this range is very wide, you can get clubs that look almost new to pretty beat up. But if you look through their used club selection, I bet over 75% of anything older than a year or two is rated as value. So not much choice but to roll the dice or wait.

If you want/need the club, then rolling the dice with "value" condition is well worth it IMHO. They sell their value clubs at a significant discount to the other ratings.  And as I said earlier, most of my recent clubs have been value condition, and have been just fine.  Condition will definitely vary though.

How easy is it to return if the club is in too bad a condition.  I can get the sand wedge to complete the set of irons I got last year for $30 shipped, so I'm awful tempted to pull the trigger.

Okay, now I'm seeing one in "very good" condition.  Are those significantly better?  Only think is it's a stiff shaft, which I don't have any idea how that would affect a wedge.
