I've hit a ton of different irons and the J15 CB has to be the best combination of feel and forgiveness that I've come across. In recent years I've played/tried the S55, iE1, MP-68, MP-64, MP-62, Apex Pro to name a few

The DF looks more blade like with a hidden cavity. The CB is a classic players CB. Also the DF is a little larger from heel to toe.

The biggest difference is sound and feel. IMO it doesn't compare to the CB in either category. CB generates the classic "thwack" and the DF is just different. DF has a hot face feeling, similar with other multi material irons. I would compare feel to Cally Apex line. CB is like butter.

Offset is the same. The grinds may be a bit different but I don't recall off the top of my head.

J15 CB's all day.  I had a set of the 850 forged and they just didn't work for me at all, and I really thought they were the "one".  I really wanted and thought they would work out.  Something about them, I just can't pin point it, but for one they dug on me like crazy, and sometimes seemed a bit clunky.  The J15's are as forgiving to me, and long as well.  The sole grind really helps with my swing on any type of surface or lie.  I gave the I200 a shot also, not being a Ping guy really, but I thought they are the best looking Ping iron besides the Iblade.  Just didn't give me the feel that I wanted.  I think you would be hard pressed to find a forged CB with the playability, forgiveness, and distance (control) as the J15 CB's.
This is exactly what I like to hear. I have bagged the Ie1 last season and this as well and out of sheer boredom, wanted to try the J15 CB's. I have always loved the look of them and the response to the feel, and playability is fantastic. They should be out for delivery today (fedex site is having issues) but they were at a location less than an hour from me last friday so I am hoping to get them reshafted and ready to play this weekend.
So, did you get a chance to test out the J15's yet?  If so, curious to your thoughts.

I got out yesterday at sweetens cove. No range time no warm up.

First swing was absolutely pured. Feel was fantastic for me. My distances seemed to be right on with my ie1. Need to get on my home course where I know my distances.

When I built them. They ended up about 1/2" shorter than my pings. I play my pings at +1" and these ended around +1/2". I think it gives me a better lie angle as the bstones are a little flatter lie. My ball flight was extremely straight, and flight and spin seemed about as good as it gets.

After one round i love them. Will do more testing but really happy this far.
