Think I'm somewhat against the grain here as I love to drive.  Anywhere any distance, and I do all of it when we're on the road.  Really dislike riding, there's nothing to do.  Understand why Conrad and Stu may not be apt to jump in their vehicle once off the road.  Its there profession, off the road down time is to be expected.

Don't have to drive in rush hour, or constantly congested roads.  Thant would no doubt be tedious.  I live relatively rural, three minutes and I'm out of town and onto country back roads.  Have had to do a number of solo runs north in the last year, 3.5 hours or so.  Never minded it at all.  Turn on some tasty tunes, ease back, put the cruise control on and just drive.  Seeing what the road has ahead.  Let my thoughts meander.

First thing I did after setting around for several days following the incident. hobbled into my vehicle and took a drive.  Couldn't take sitting around any longer. Had to take the road somewhere, anywhere.  By myself.  (Mrs. had a fit when she found out).  Driving around in the country for an hour or so was rejuvenating.

I'll be a basket case, if and when I ever have to give up my keys.

I agree Fella.  I like to drive too. I love a good road trip when I'm on vacation with no other worries. I have always been able to stay awake and drive long distances. Coulda been a trucker?  As I have aged and lived for so long up here in the boonies it does tense me up to drive in the city. Seattle, Portland, LA all stress me. In college I drove on the Riverside freeway in So Cal. every day near bumper to bumper at 70 mph no problem. Now I hate that especially if I don't know exactly where I am going. I may have to get used to it again as Mrs. scotee is planning some road travel in our retirement.

A while back we had to drive a main road every morning, the same idiots would tailgate, overtake and zoom away. Without fail they would stay in the outside lane at the traffic lights, there would be a whole line of them, the inside lane was empty. We would tootle up the inside to the front of the lights and then it would all start again.

The journey was about 20 miles on that road, at the end we were still side by side with the numb nuts.

Speaking of mother hen.  Thug has been MIA.  (lol must be fishing!)

And... somewhere about now there should be a new little Gaucho in the world.  Hope all is well with him and his gang.

Bill - we're a little behind your fall colors.  Temps still in the 80s and leaves starting to clutter-the-gutter.  Peak fall colors are still a couple of weeks out at least down here.  Days sure getting shorter.

Went around this eve testing out the furnace and changing filters.  Won't be long.  Getting a slight whiff of natural gas at the meter.  Will go out in daylight with the old soapy water trick and see if its time to call them in before she blows.  What a way to go that'd be.

We were talking about one of us coming up missing.   So if you don't hear from me and there's a big plume of smoke over the Carolinas - you'll know old reason got himself in trouble trying to light is how gas!!!!   :taunt:

I hereby bequeath all my missed putts to the boys in the I&A who clearly have never missed one.  tee hee

Yes, the rough is a dream.....nice fluffy lies in winter......and I like the
contrast with the overseeded fairways and greens.

EDIT: Oops the greens are sprayed green not overseeded.

Hmmm...

Maybe winter with snow isn't such a bad thing after all...

----------------------

Day men curling got underway today.  We had a full house for the 11:00 am draw as the weather has been abysmal this week as far as golf is concerned.  Nothing like jumping in with both feet as I was placed on a 3 person team and we ended up playing a full 8 end game.  That made for 24 rocks thrown by yours truly on the first game out.  I'm just thrashed!!

An Epsom salts bath followed when I got home and the Aleve came shortly after.  I should be in great shape in the morning...

Apologies for the long absence... work called ... and that led to being away from home for the birth of my daughter! Lillian Joy has moved into the family at 7 lb 8 oz and 22 inches long as memory served. Best part, she was born on 10/4 so that should be relatively easy to remember.
Golf is going to be on the back burner for a while I guess as I am awaiting the last Obamacare bills from the hospital and awaiting the insurance company moving the goalposts on me now as they will claim a 4th person (even if she isn't on the plan yet) for our out-of-pocket requirements.
Long story short, I need a GoFundMe to afford golf... I couldn't get the hospital bills, but maybe I can get a couple of those $30 rounds covered? :)

The LPGA class of 2039's newest member: Lilly aka "Stormageddon Worldeater" (she made my wife eat a LOT) aka "Stormy" (she also made the wife have a lot of morning sickness) aka the "stunned burrito" (as my wife calls all newborns). I'll have to see if I can get a "rage face" pic from my wife. She is going to OWN someone with the look of hatred she can throw. :angry22:

Well since I'm here alone (lol) - was going to post a version of Isn't She Lovely for the little Gauchster.  Found a version performed on an instrument called the Chapman Stick.

Well it wasn't the prettiest version after listening to it.  Gaucho's little one deserves better.  Hopefully it's the thought that counts.

But... for anyone who's never heard of or seen a Chapman Stick... here you go

Nice Radro!  Smooth!

So you got me looking up Mr. Benoit when listening to that.  I was sure there's something very familiar about his music.  Sure enough he's collaborated with a billion artists (expectedly) - but what I was surprised to learn is his music is what we hear on the Weather Channel !!!

:angry22:

Congratulations, Gaucho!

I must have given that Austin guy on Jeopardy bad luck, for he lost last night.  Anyhow, he won over $400K.  He'll be back for a Tournament of Champions, though.

Really hate the thought of winter.  Just laying about the house, waiting for Spring.

A guy I used to golf with told me of some senior center at the local shopping mall.  I've gone past there, and see old people sitting around drinking coffee and playing cards.  Another guy goes to the food court and chats with some old jocks he knows.  I'm not ready for that scene yet.

I know people that go to the casinos, playing the slots.  Great fun, throwing money away.

Hope to play golf today.

I don't think I will ever be ready for that scene, locally they have what are called men sheds, the older males meet there make stuff out of wood, jaw about the state of the world, and generally sit and waite for the big journey. Me, no way, as long as I draw breath I will be man of action, that would never suit me or my DW.

Gaucho, adding my congratulations on the birth of your new daughter.  Lillian is a cutie!!  Resembles mom doesn't she.  All the best to team Gaucho in the days ahead.

T - 3 hours until tee time.  Playing the boring "regular" bag of implements today.  Don't feel like over thinking it.  The bigger question is WTW (what to wear).  Only suppose to be partly cloudy with the temp maybe reaching 60*.  Right at the cusp line for wearing pants rather than shorts.  Could be a game time decision.  Dislike golfing in pants, gets my lower mass all constricted.  Feel on the verge of a good late season round today.

Arrived in Australia late 1981, wore pants for the first few weeks whilst settling in, since then possibly six times for trip out when we have been to a show. Dislike pants with a passion even in the dead of winte. Only own two pair plus one suite and a dress suite, rack full of shorts.

DW insists I wear track pants when I go bush looking for firewood. Those trips are very short and pants dissapear very quickly.
