Go now, or at least before April.

I like February... odd month on the coast.

Off season. $400 for two rounds, two nights, two breakfasts. Replay rounds about $60 bucks. Not what I would call a standard rip off.

Even at peak season, I don't think Bandon is a rip off compared to most resorts.

Where did you see that rate////

I meant rip offs from the package companies...1600+/person is a rip off to me. I am not talking about Bandon being a rip off by no means.

Just book through the course. Travel companies have to make their money somehow, so naturally passing on the cost to you is one way.

I like going in late February, early March.

If you have kids, you might be able to swing it by your wife as a "family spring break trip."

I just got off the phone with Bandon. Golf is $185 per round for hotel guests and $220 for non Hotel guests. Staying at the Lodge is $240/night.

That doesn't add up anywhere close to $400. If you got that deal it is smoking hot!!!!

Best I can put together, staying off property is $1300 for 3 rounds and 3 nights w/ flight and car. This is 4 people splitting a couple of the costs.
  • Total 1291/person
  • Room/Night 147/person
  • Flight 429/person
  • Car 55/person
  • GOLF 660/Person 3 rounds

Off season is the key. Don't stay three nights - play 36 a day and get it done quickly.

Or stay three nights and play 36 a day - the replay rates are pretty fair.

When were you booking your golf? For summertime? That is when rates are the highest. From Thanksgiving weekend through Presidents Day is when they have winter packages as mentioned above. Roughly $400 for 2 nights lodging, 2 rounds of golf, breakfast both days, dinner on the middle night and unlimited range use. Can't go wrong except for the weather. Weather can swing wildly on the coast. I play there every winter (I live in Portland) and I have played there with snow on the ground (yes, they let us play with snow) and in shorts (70* weather).

Always book directly with Bandon. The folks on the line are very, very good IMO. Going through a broker or tour organizer is a waste of money.

Called directly to reservations and they quoted me the pkg above. Thanks guys.

Found a flight to PDx for $262, Car still gonna cost about 80/person.

Agent said you get replay rate for a different course for $45 as a guest at the property. Don't have to play same course. So that means only $90/person more to play all 4 courses.

I think its a go! :D :yahoo:

Hope the weather is halfway decent end of Feb.

One last thing. You can fly into North Bend airport instead of driving in from Portland (you still change planes in PDX though...). Rather than driving 4 hours you would only be driving 30 minutes instead. With the price of gas these days it might be worth it.

Bring a nice set of rain gear and extra pair of golf shoes if you have it.

Like I said, I love playing in February out on the coast. It seems like there is a 3 week window where the weather is pretty fair.

I don't often see a ton of rain in February ...and have had some days where it's be 60 and clear.

If you have time, check out Bandon Crossings too -- it's a nice track.
