Best: 280yds to right side of fairway, looking at green

Worst: A 20yd pitch shot. Shaft broke inside the grip as I started my downswing. Ball went 80yds into woods. Clobhead/shaft went 40 yds to back of green. I'm standing there with grip in my hand.

Best: Par 3, GW from 120, landed slightly to the left of the hole, kicked a little right, almost had a heart attack because I thought I was going to have my first hole in one. Got up there and it was about 3 feet behind the hole.

Worst: The entire 18th hole. I was 2-over heading into 18, and well on pace for my best round ever at my home course. Toed one off the tee into some deeper grass. Chopped out of there back into the fairway. Had 210 left, but water surrounds part of the front of green and left side so I decided to lay up. Problem is, I took too much club and hit it too far through the fairway and right into the water that is front left of the green. And the part that pisses me off is I said to myself "this is probably too much club, walk back to the cart and get a shorter club" - yet I didn't. I instead tried to hit a 3/4 shot, but of course pured it and sent it to its watery demise. Triple bogey. But I still shot 76, so overall I'm pleased.

Best - On the first hole I blocked my drive out to the right.  I left myself about 170 yards off the green with a small pond (only had to carry it about 65 yards) in front of my between a few trees with low hanging limbs.  I threaded a low hooking 6 iron between 20 or so foot gap of trees, just under the hanging limbs, with a enough carry to clear the pond.  The ball ended up just short of the green with a nice, easy, up hill pitch.

A close second best shot was the 20 foot par putt on #10 which was a double snaker that I drained right in the heart.

Worst -  Take your pick.  My thoughts are the fatted wedge after a great drive on a par 4 from 90 yards out.  I followed up that fatted 3/4 wedge with another fatted wedge and bladed the 3rd over the green.  Total freaking melt down on 17 (I was checked out by that point).  With a easily accessible pin in the front of the green and sitting in the middle of the fairway 90 yards out off my drive, I had to drain a 10 footer for double....

Mine came on the same hole, as usual.

530 yard par 5, hit a monster drive (for myself) and had 213 left to the hole. I had just found my driving form again this season the day before, so this shot was a surprise, and quite frankly, a miracle it seemed since I had lost all confidence in the big stick so far this year. Hitting out of the fairway was almost uncomfortable haha.

The 213 is a forced carry over water, then a sand trap to a narrow green. Knowing I'd need some extra height and spin on the ball and about 10 yards shaved off of full distance, I went for a high fade, and topped the SOB.

I'll say that while I call it the worst shot as it was a freaking TOPPED BALL, with a club that I rarely miss with (hybrid), but it was a good miss. It went dead straight and left me with 112 to the hole. Hit a wedge to 12-15 ft and made birdie.

Two weeks ago I was playing Tom Watson (not the famous one from Kansas, the unknown one from Ohio) at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City Ohio.

He holed out a nine iron from the fairway for an eagle on the Par 4 6th.

Then he had an ace on the Par 3 7th.  With the same 9 iron and same ball!

Without thinking he hit the same ball the 8th over a ravine.  Then he realized and took it out of play.

Best - 40 yd bunker shot on a par 5. Hit is passed the hole by about 8 ft spun back to 3 ft . In for bird.

Worst - very next hole. Steep greenside bunker, pin high off the tee on a par 3. Had to lay open my 58* as the pin was tight, didn't realize how little sand was in it, skulled it and airmailed the green into the trees on the other side.

Best: hole out from bunker after missing green on drivable par 4. 3rd eagle of the day (other 2 on short par 5 (612 and 657 yards)

Worst: missing a gimme for eagle on a par 5 after sticking it 3 feet from 250 yards with my 5 iron.

Best - 9 iron tee shot over a 3 storie ravine at 122 yard par three to 5 feet (missed the gross birdie but made 3 for net birdie)

Worst - its a tie, duffed wedge from 107 or three wood I pushed 30 yards right after clubbing down to make my tee shot easier.

Worst shot: 3rd hole par 3 caught a 6 iron crazy heavy and wound up about 30 yards short of green, managed to get up and down

I hear ya! I typically have no issues in the sand unless of course there's no sand 😯

Best. 207 yards par 3. 5 iron to 6 inches. Divot was 2 feet in front of the cup, dead on line.

Worst. Try to carry bunker on long par 5 off the tee. Ball hits a foot from the top furthest lip and plugs. Had to chop a 60 degree just to pop it out and clear the lip. Laying 2 where my drive would have been with another 2 yards of carry.

My best/worst shot went back-to-back.

Drove the ball well to the left off the tee on #7, which puts me in the fairway of #2.  I'm on an uphill slope, but hit under the ball, so it just popped up and went about 15 yards (still in the fairway).  That was the worst shot and made me feel like a moron.  So I'm about 180 yards downhill from the #7 green and proceed to take 3 wood and hit a beautiful shot that ends up on the green and about 12 feet from the hole.  Unfortunately, I missed the putt for a par, but I'll settle for bogey based on where I was.

#4 Par 4 (green from hell)...Best - Perfect drive; in the middle of the fairway mind you, left w/130 something to the hole, pin up front.
Worst - Ensuing seven strokes.  nibbed a 9I to the right, off the green about 10 yds.  Easy pitch to the flag over the bunker ...bloop, right into the sand :  - / ,
great up 'n down but rolled to side of green. The putting incident is fodder for an entirely new thread...ended up with an 8.

Worst: Drove it right into water on 18 to put me out of reach of the best round of my life.

5 iron from 200ish to about 10 feet, left the putt at least 2 feet short and a foot right.

Rest of the round was precisely mediocre on every other shot.

260 yard drive. Uphill. For me that is loooong. Worst was missing green from 84 yards with a sand iron.

Mine happened on the same hole. Got to the course to walk 9 holes with my classic clubs and the guy behind the counter said "If you want to get out, you gotta go right now" So I didn't get the chance to warm up at all. I played like crap for the first 3 holes and got to 4 a short par 4 about 310. I tried to hit a stinger 2 iron (I was playing my W/S Button Backs) about 200 to leave me a good wedge in. I hit it totally fat and snap hooked it in the left rough about 60 yards out. It was hands down the worst shot i've hit all year. So I grab my Macgregor persimmon 3 wood and said "Screw it, i'm just gonna hit it as hard as I can" And hit a beautiful draw that landed short of the green and rolled to 20 feet. Of course, I missed the putt.

425 yard par 4 that doglegs to the right for the last 200 yards.

I hit a monster cut that left me 130 yards in on the right side of the fairway - best drive of the day.

Next shot, i dig up a beaver tail that must have weighed 10 pounds with the ball coming up 40 yards short :censored2:

Got to play at El Dorado in Long Beach yesterday. Walked on as a single early and was told they were booked until nine. No problem. The curse of the single.

Bought a bucket of balls and was halfway through it when they paged me. A tee time must have no-showed because they paired me with two other singles and we were off. Sweet!

Worst shot?  There were a few, but I guess the pull-topped drive on a par five followed by a skanked three wood into the woods.  Best shot right after, with a deliberately snap hooked 6 iron to go around a tree directly in front of me and left of the one ahead of it, leaving me 70 to the pin.

Alternate best shot?  A sand wedge from 95 yards that landed 4' short of the pin and spun about six yards off the green followed by a chip in bird.

Chip in bird on #10....was +4 heading to 16 and topped a drive into the pond in front of the tee box on my way to a smooth 8. Ended up with an 81. Ugly finish.

Two man tournament this weekend. Tight par four where I get a pop and partner doesn't. Actually hit a perfect drive, small cut into the dogleg right. 128 to a very back pin where dead is long. Slight breeze behind.  Figure SW which is 115 club (remember, elevation) puts me right in the middle. Miss hit it, short left. Fail to get up and down. It wasn't a horrible, terrible shot as far a shots go, just not good for the situation as we missed out on both Calcutta money and tournament money by one shot.

Best shot ......
Par 5 11th, good drive, then hit a perfect 5 iron to the back of the green from 185 out, 6 would have been pin high, but I 2 putted for the birdie !

Worst shot.....
Par 4 17th, driveable hole, put the drive about 30 yds short right on a mound with ball 2ft above my feet
Barely hit it 10 ft, knocked it on and 2 putted for bogey

Shot a 40 on the back which is great for me, was standing on 16 tee even par on the back, and unfortunately realized it!
Topped the drive, recovered for bogey
17 was the bogey with flubbed chip
18 was double bogey on a long par3

Best shot yesterday was a 162 yard 7 iron to 2.5 feet. Made the birdie putt. Worst shot from yesterday Chunked PW from 127 yards 40 yards short of the green haha. All in all a good day though. Fired a 74.

Best last round - 210 yard 3 iron low draw chaser around trees and corner to run up and on for birdie. No way did I think I could pull it off, I don't think I could ever do that again, pure luck!

Worst last round - Many.. but a thin shot 6 iron on a par 3, the hole was only 187. I thinned it fired off low long. I also messed up the second shot, and the putt -- it was a disaster of a hole.

Worst shot was a "safe choice" hybrid pulled 30yards left of the fariway into the trees.

Best shot was the follow up pitching wedge out of the trees resulting in a makeable putt.

Best, 240 yd 3W to be on PAR 5 in 2, 25ft for Eagle.  Worst, the 4 putts for bogie that followed.

Best: Stuck a 160yd blind uphill approach with an 8i about 10' from the pin.

Worst: Railed a long putt on a par-3 a good 25' past the hole, then railed it again coming back giving up my first (and hopefully only) four putt of the year.
