Continuing Mizuno's longstanding tradition of developing performance-enhancing scientific advancements, the inovative MP-001™ driver blends a carbon fiber composite crown with a titanium face and body to create a lower, deeper center of gravity that optimizes launch angle and reduces spin for exceptional distance. The forged titanium Percussion Face™ maximizes energy transfer to achieve the highest allowable C.O.R. across the entire face. Additionally, Balance Grooves™ strategically position weight towards the heel which squares the club head both at address and at impact for long, accurate drives.

Features
# Carbon fiber composite crown and titanium body create a low, deep center of gravity for maximum distance.
# Grain Flow Forged™ titanium Percussion Face™ increases initial ball velocity at every point on the club face.

[size=2] :beach: This club has an auto pilot button for long straight drives, Alot more reliable than my tiitleist 905 T Sorry titleist but I cant deny this driver is awesome. I am a titleist person and it hurt me to see how i was criushing this driver. I have the 9.5 paired with aldila nvs. awesome shaft. My titleist was paired with nv green, nice shaft also. This driver is very workable with trees in the way or dog legs . Just amazed by this club. I wish i hit my 905 like this.

Played a 9.5 with Aldila NV 65 in stiff.

Very straight, but not very long. Just doesn't have that pop off the face. Plus, off center hits are penalized heavily. Sound it makes isn't the greatest either...kind of muffled. All in all a B- driver at best.

For a company that makes such awesome irons, Mizuno needs to get their poop together in the driver dept.

The 460/10.5 with the Graf ProLaunch works great for my mid-80mph swing...

I've played a couple of rounds with it now but still can't decide if it's a keeper. I've got a 11.5* reg flex stock shaft, nothing special for a average swing speed. Overall it's easy to hit, seems forgiving without much loss of distance on off center hits. I'm getting a much higher launch angle than I'm used to seeing and slightly longer average drives. It's deceptive in that you don't realize how far it's actually going due to the high launch angle and a slightly muffled sound.

My previous driver was a Nicklaus AirMax 440 10.5*. The Nicklaus has a very satisfing crack on a well hit ball and a more boring flight. The MX-500 is longer on an average drive but on a well hit shot the Nichlaus goes farther. It seems to get more roll on the lower launch angle.

It's not a bad driver but nothing really exciting about it, I would rate it above average because it's fairly easy to hit straight and has good average distance. If it had a sound more like the Nicklaus it would be a no doubt winner.

the 400cc model in 8 degree loft with an NV 85 s flex shaft is the most controllable, best launching, best feeling driver i have ever hit. and looking down at it from set up, it is the most confidence-inspiring club to hold.

I've just brought the mx-500 and shot the round of my life. A 73 ;) on a championship course in the U.K. this driver is awesome. My Nakashima is going to gather dust if I keep hiting the ball this big.

I picked up an MP-001 460CC 9.5º with a NVS 65-R last week.
Traded in my NIKE IGNITE 460CC w/ Stock Stiff Shaft.

The head itself feels more balanced.
Clean at address.
Sound at impact is pure and clean.

Swinging at 80% (since it's a regular shaft) i can get the ball 250+ each time.
Still workin on the control since the shaft is more flexible.

Overall, it's a great driver.
The shaft and the head appear to be a good combination in terms of trajectory.
Not too high and not too low.

More later.

Still have the 400 in the bag with the NV 65, although I just ordered a Cobra S9-1 Pro D so the 001 is on its last week... LOVE the feel and the launch angle. Sound isn't great, but who cares? One of the most predictable drivers out there, super straight and workable. I'm only replacing it because I have finally found a combination that is longer for me. MP-001 is a great club, very underrated.

I still have the 400 cc version in my bag. It features a Fujikura Vista Pro 70 shaft. My only complaint is the "tinny" sound at impact. I have found it to be a consistent performer. I'm looking at other drivers, but really don't want to go to a 460 size in anything. I think 425 is about as big as I would want to go. However, tomorrow is another day ;)

I'm still playing the 370 version with the NV 65 shaft. Easy to hit straight and long, very workable. Have been searching for a replacement to no avail. Everything I hit produces too much spin. Frustrated...
