I was going to pick a sleeve up just for putting.  Maybe keep a sleeve in the bag for when the sun wanes late in the summer.

I played 36 this weekend with the same red vivid ball and the finish looked good as new-  so happy with it I even got down on my hands and knees and fished it out of a creek somewhere during the second round because I didn't want to lose it.

I also played these balls yesterday. Played a Pink & a green one. No marks or wear of any kind after 18.  I did lose the pink one on 16 as it rolled into brush/pond area. But easy ball to see and plays good.

I tried playing a red one again Sunday and it just seems like a hard golf ball. Love the color and finish though.

I too want these colors and finish available in a softer ball. The Volvik Vibe with these colors would be perfect.  I agree the Vivid is too hard. The pink and green are my favs.

I would try these in the fall when the course starts to look more brownish.

The Vibe is a good ball and it has a nice yellow color. But, a little bit light feeling considering the compression. I think they are  overpriced, too. Also, they are hard to find retail. You tend to see the Vivids and Crystals and not much else in the big box stores.

Has anyone managed to get their hands on the new Vivid XTs yet?  Supposedly better for faster swing speeds.  I couldn't get anything out of the normal Vivids so I stuck with my Vista but really liked how bright they were.

$40 for a 4pc non Urethane ball seems kind of steep. Apparently it was designed for the Long Drive Competition.

Like many posted...couldn't help but to try it bc i love the orange color, and i normally don't try different balls.  They felt dead, especially off the drivere where i seemed to lose 15-20 yards.  I will stick with my Z Stars!

I bought a sleeve and noticed the same, being about 10 yards short of the V1s that i use normally.

One thing i did notice though, they do seem to bounce quite high on landing compared to other balls, i tried the pro V1, NXT, DT trusoft and others and the Vivid just jumped at least twice as high as the others, was a bit weird!

I have gamed the RXS for the past 2 years and tried the Vivid green after cuz gave me a dozen for Christmas; really not looking to switch but they felt just as soft as the RXS and went just as far.

Gamed vivid @ competition today.

First of all, it is super popular.  I see vivid flying throughout the course.

It is fun to watch ball flying in the air until...... i reached green.  Vivid flew way more than my judgement and rolled out on green.  After 4 holes, I went back to my usual gamer, mtb.

I have vision problems that make it rare for me to see a white or optic yellow ball in the air. I bought a dozen each or the Volvik Vivid in red and orange. I can see them in the sky much better, but I found them a tad difficult to find on the ground compared to the yellow Titleist NXT I usually use.

I played terribly last Friday when i tried the Vivid for the first time, so I won't make a definitive statement about it, but a few times I thought I'd hit a shot well and the ball hadn't gone as far as I expected. A couple times I also felt like it felt hard too.

For me, I'd definitely look for some darker colored balls and change from yellow, but hopefully I can find something that feels good at the same time.

It's been a good day if I don't fall out of the cart...

I thought in competition you have to play the same type of ball the entire round ??

Nope. You DO have to play the same ball from the tee into the hole though. Between holes you can switch unless the Competition Committee invoked a "One ball rule" - then you typically have to play the entire round with the same brand, ball and type.

As for the Vivid, I bought a sleeve of the orange. For comparison purposes I've been playing the Chrome Soft for about 8 months now.

Now I've only played about 5 or 6 holes with it and not on the same day (switched between holes LOL) so my observations are incomplete at this time.

The visibility IS exceptional through the air and in the rough.

The Vivid is much harder/clickier off the club face. Shockingly so, most likely due to my playing a much softer ball previously. Compared to my older ProV1x, not so much. Very obvious putting and chipping.

Distance and flight off the driver was pretty good - about the same as my CS.

Same with the irons. Roughly the same distances and didn't notice a big difference in release off a short iron.

I'm guessing I won't be using them because of the harsh feel.

Probably give the others a try though (S3/4 ?).

You can try blue gamersofts online at Dick's. I tried the blue supersoft and they were hard to see once they landed. But, based on your comments, worth a try? They are typically 2 for 30.

I don't find they feel hard off the face, I found them to launch very high off the irons. Didn't notice them being a lot shorter either, I really like them and I normally play pro vs. Only issue is around the greens, putting them is ok but chipping they do not feel soft at all.

Overall I think they are a good ball

Wow those are really bright.  Thanks for posting the pictures.  Looks like it would be an easy ball to find.

If you think the green is bright you should see the orange and pink. By far the orange is the brightest ball I've ever seen.

Oh yeah, it's almost nausea inducing bright.  I can see Chrome Soft yellow well enough.  I didn't think without a clearcoat the color would stand well.

We did find a pink Crystal we used as a message ball for really slow, oblivious to others groups and it felt nice and went well on down the fairway.

Bubba's switch didn't work out too well so far, so thinking I'll just stay with what I play and know.

Have fun, try some of the bright ones, they might be radioactive.

Thought I would add my two penneth worth.

I have now been playing the vivids for about 5 weeks or so and I am only on my 2nd ball, played one ball for 4 rounds and eventually lost it in a tree :-(

The ball IMO is certainly harder and has less spin than my normal c'hrome softs' that I had been using for the last year or so, however, this is what I was looking for, as we are just moving into spring here in NZ and I was finding my normal Chrome softs were spinning too much, had 4 yard backspin on one approach shot - away from the hole. With the Vivids they just drop and stop I have also found that I have almost gained a club in distance with the irons with just about the same amount of driver distance (around 220 - 230m).

Regarding wear and tear, I have found them to be the best I have used - as I said, I had one that got through 4+ rounds, BTW the current one has lasted 3 rounds - I am playing some good golf though :-)

Will be interesting to see how they perform come summer in regarding to stopping distance but at this moment I am SOLD on these and also persuading my golf mates to try them.

I liked the look of the white Vivid so I bought a few individal balls from Roger Dunn. I have only played one or two, but I don’t like them very much.

I was able to game the Red Vivid for 9 holes with a friend of mine on Sunday, who enjoys playing them.  I thought the look was pretty cool, and as mentioned previously, looks great when flying off the clubface.  I thought the compression was really high, and although it didn't feel like a rock off the tee, it did go off like a rocket.  The tee box is where I tend to excel, and had a 346 yard drive and even 273 yard tee shot with my 19 degree hybrid (granted, this includes roll-out, and is 4,200' above sea level).  Up until Sunday, my longest shot with the hybrid was 250, and still average 229 yards (according to Game Golf).  This was huge for me.

I felt the downfall of the ball is on and around the greens.  I'm not sure whether this is due to the cover, or the ball itself, but the lack of spin was I feel may have contributed to the great distance off the tee, but was a bit of a detriment for me around the green with chips and pitches rolling out much more than I'm used to with the B330S and ProV.  The ball felt almost numb to me off the putter with essentially no feel, and hopped so quickly for me that it was difficult for me to put much touch on the putter, and thus hurt my ability to lag putts.

If I'm playing with friends who wouldn't care, I'd gladly play with the Vivid off the tee, then switch balls once on the green.

Also, that color is so vibrant that I'll definitely be using this ball through the autumn months.

With snow covered mountain background, red Vivid will shine like a rose on snow.  I would recommend Vivid XT for greenside spin and the same visibility.  I love Vivid XT but not economically feasible.

Couldn't agree more. Huge ball off the tee for showing but lacks a lot of check around the green. I would say it is similar to the B330 as far as performance. If you are a high spin player you'll see success on distance and control on full swing shots. It will be more difficult to spin around the greens!

For anyone curious.. I tried out the vivid xt and found it to be a very nice ball.  I have too high of a swing speed to use the normal vivid.. it just gets super spinny on my driver and I lose a ton of distance on it.

The xt has a more muted color though, but felt great all around.  The vivid xt is accompanied by an arrow that goes most of the way around the ball and makes putter line up super easy as well.

The Xt flew just as far as a chromesoft x or the s3 I am normally playing, it also checked nicely on the greens. ( I was playing on a soaked cart path only course though so take this with a grain of salt, the ball was definitely flying 280-290 though because that is where it was buried in the fairway :P
