On occasion, we like to get outside the city and play something we normally wouldn't be able to. Last week, we played The Falls out in New Ulm (about 1.5 hours west of Houston). It was pretty nice, and very empty which was great.

A few months ago, we played Blaketree National in Montgomery, and April Sound in Conroe. Both were enjoyable. There's something about getting out of the city that helps me relax. Oh yeah, and The Wilderness in Lake Jackson...that was the first course I've played with electric fence guarding areas of the course.

So, anyone know any other courses around town that are worth going to? Thanks in advance!

High Meadow Ranch is the best public course in the Houston area.

Thanks, guys. A friend of mine told me about River Ridge, so we'll probably try that one next.

Rio Colorado is FAR! Wow... that's a 2 hour trek, which we will make, but there will have to be some other courses we can play while we stay there.

I second both of these. When I was in high school my district tournament was at HMR. River Ridge is a nice course as well.
