Scratch Golf has been thinking about hosting a small GolfWRX outing at Eugene CC sometime in the coming months. It would be a great opportunity for some of us WRXers to meet and play the best course in the Pacific NW not at Bandon Dunes. The course at Eugene CC is a classic and is consistently ranked in the Top 100, currently at #64.
The price would be $75 a player including cart and range balls. I would be able to host a max of 9 players. (MAYBE 12 at the absolute most if there was an overwhelming interest)
Let me know who would be interested and when you would prefer to play and we will set something up.

I'd be in for sure! It's a bit of a drive for me down there, but maybe I can talk a couple of fellow NW GolfWRXer's in to carpooling with me whenever it is. I have a biodiesel Jetta wagon, and I can get down there and back on one tank of gas :)

This would be a good opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone also...I've been meaning to take a look at some new Scratch wedges for next season and thinking about switching to a 3 wedge set up. Now I can do it live and in person with the masters themselves!

As far as dates...hmmmmm. I'm headed down to Bandon the 3rd weekend in January with a group of buddies, so that's the only date that's really out save for the bulk of the holiday season due to family commitments. I'm up for whatever, sounds great!

I am up for it as long as I am not traveling on business. Let me know the date and I should know if I can make it. Weather does not matter to me.

I'd be very interested as long as the "cart" thing isn't mandatory , can't play out of one. Other than that, any date is good for me.......... The sooner the better.

I'm very interested, but not anytime soon.
I'm on injured list and not able to walk for awhile ( crossing my fingers to get out of this in one month ).
Hopefully we don't have to play in the 30's temp. anything close to and over 40 degree is fine with me.

I'm due for a roadtrip, count me in. Maybe I can get DemoMan and KascoPro in the car with me.

Cheers

Looks like we have alot of interest that is great! I will work on getting some dates set for early 2008. Hopefully we will get lucky with the weather.

Carts are definitely not mandatory. I would always prefer to walk myself and Eugene is very walkable.

ICE,

I will count you in. It would be great if you could get DemoMan and KascoPro to come also!

I'd love to come play if its after may as im in school (in PA) until may, after that im back home in Vancouver BC and would love to make the drive down and play an amazing course with some WRXers.

Im also a walker, between jr and college golf always carrying i cant stand sitting and standing back and forth. Although in need of a pull cart right now as the airline broke the stand on my bag:(.

Fred,

Great idea to set up a NW outing. I know the Hawaii guys do a great job of getting together so it would be nice to see maybe a quarterly outing for us as well.

If y'all don't mind a complete chop, I'm in. How about Monday (tomorrow)....shouldn't be too wet, right??? Cripes!!

Sounds like a fine time to me...but I'm out of commission with a bum foot until spring, hopefully no longer than that. If I can't make the one early in the year, I would be up for it in the future.

How Eugene taking the storm we had last weekend?
I-5 is still blocked off around Chehalis, a 7 hour detour to the north.
I did not realize the Feds had declared this storm as the 2nd most damaging natural disaster after Katrina.

I'd be interested in this also depending on when this were to happen. I don't live that close (Tri-Cities), but would be willing to drive down to Eugene if this were to happen.

How about a morning round followed by a little tour of the Scratch facilities?????

You set up one of our customers not too long ago and he is pretty happy with his wedges :clapping:

I e-mailed Ari about it in early January, he replied that tentative time frame was the end of February or early March.........

I'd be in if it works with my travel schedule. I'm at The Home Course/ Tacoma CGC at the end of Feb, and a couple of events in March. If I'm not on the road I'm in though. Anyone wanna pick up a dude in Olympia?

I live a couple blocks away from the 512 - I-5 Interchange. Would I maybe be able to snag a ride??? :D I hope they do this outing in the middle of March when the weather might be better. This weather is crap. Today just so happened to be great but this NW weather is too shady... I played out at Chambers Bay yesterday and that was the hardest round of golf I've ever played.. The wind was howling and I rained all day! True links golf!!! I escaped with a 79 :vava:

Easy pick up on the way down...I just assumed that you were in.

I played in the WSGA winter series at McCormick Woods yesterday also in the worst wind and conditions I have ever played. Only 6 golfers broke 80! I won low gross overall with a birdie on 18...Bandon trip 3 weeks ago prepped me pretty well for playing in the wind :)

Congratulation Crosier, :drinks: on me.
As for the Eugene trip, it'll depend on the day and the time of the month. I'll do my best to go down but my kids' schedule seemed to have a priority to my own now a days.
I have a SUV w/ quad chairs, it takes 4 with all your gears comfortably, except for the fuel economy is not the best.
Heads up on the schedule would be helpful, but I guess we all have a wet and cold Winter this season.

Lets get a date finalized soon. I have been busier than I could have ever imagined since Jan 1 and have not given this the time I wanted to. I do not want to schedule it and have the weather be terrible so Spring sounds like a good time to do it. I will keep everyone posted.
