Swiftwick is my personal favorite.  Kentwool is good, as is the casual line of Smartwool stuff.

Footjoys for a single round. Bridgedale walking socks for 2 rounders. Insanely comfortable and they do variable thicknesses so they don't make your shoes too tight. In Winter I go for some thermal option.

Swiftwick are good quality but my feet sweat something awful in them.  Huge Stance fan now.  Awesome styles for golf and casually.

smartwool. Keeps your feet cool and dry, even in the summer. Best made socks right now. One of their running styles. Most people get wet feet from seat and not water seeping in.

ProCompression.  Good padding on the heel and a good compression all over.  I usually stay with the ankle height - I like them to stay under the ankle of my shoes.

Literally gotten obsessed with Stance. They are the highest quality sock for any aspect of your life. It is actually crazy how many kinds of socks they have. And, just a little secret, most times you can find their high end golf socks at Ross and Marshalls.

Haven't seen Jox Sox mentioned, but I got a couple pairs of them earlier in the year, and they're very comfortable and don't retain moisture like many cheaper socks do.  They also have a lifetime warranty, which I haven't needed to test out yet.  I ordered several more pairs late in the year.

Dang it, I thought I was content to never again wear anything but ankle length FootJoy ProDry socks (sooo cushiony and soft and comfortable), but I have to admit I didn't like the look of showing skin when wearing pants (which is all I wear anymore, no shorts).  Now you guys introduce me to Stance socks.  They look so money.

My go-to is Nike 1/2 Cushion Dri-Fit socks (sold in 3-packs). For colder weather I'll throw on some Adidas Team Speed Crew socks -- they're thicker for warmth with great moisture control, but not as thick as Nike Elite Basketball crew socks.

I walk 125 rounds per year and I tend just to grab the generic no show socks at the golf store that are like 6 for $10. My feet are like leather on the bottoms so I don't notice a big difference in socks. The cheap socks are great as I have about 25 pairs I keep in my locker and and little sock laundry bag. When I get down to about 2 or 3 pairs left I take home and wash them and toss out the ratty ones.

My wife and Daughters once convinced to join them for pedicure. Why you would want to get rid of all the nice callous skin off your foot is lost on me, but for a few weeks my feet my have look great but felt very tender during rounds.

My leather feet aren't picky, my leather wallet can be. Can't see spending $20 on a pair when Hanes X-temps come in a 12 pack.

Stance socks are top of the line for me. They may be a little a little pricey but they are certainly worth it. So many different variations to change up your look. Not to mention they are super comfortable and great for hot temps

Swiftwick Aspire Zero for summer with shorts, Aspire Seven with pants, Pursuit Seven (Merino Wool) to start and end the season when it's colder out. There's not better sock out there. I've tried them all.

There are some deals to be had on eBay for them from time to time.
