Planning a trip in May 2008. Was checking around for lodging. Trying to see if there are alternative to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Hey what can I say my golf buddies are cheap. So does anyone suggest any alternative or I should tell to suck it up...Thanks for any input..

Someone above mentioned the Best Western, here is the link... http://www.innatfacerock.com
Don't forget to play Bandon Crossings one of the days you're there. It is brand new and the people are great!
http://www.bandoncrossings.com. You could try calling the pro shop there and Mark might be able to point you in the direction of some good, cheap lodging.
Hope that helps!

JMO, but if you have a group of guys going, the accomodation is not expensive when you consider that you pay less to play golf.
The experience is worth a few extra bucks anyways.
Top notch facility, all the practice you can handle, comfy rooms, great food, and a shuttle away from the first tees.
Stay at the resort.

Couldn't agree more...... the price break you get on green fees for staying at the resort, along with the facility itself, more than compensate for the nominal savings of alternative lodging. If you're looking to shave a few bucks, pass on the caddie. [Laser range finder is help enough, if you need it... P.S. SkyCaddie is of no value here, as none of the courses are loaded (as of my last trip).]

i would suggest staying at the cottages, imo they are way better than anywhere you are going to find in Bandon, Coos Bay is pretty close too but after 36 holes i just want to eat and take a nap not drive..plus you have the shuttle to take you to and from your cottage (if you've had any beverages) enjoy your trip, it really is one of the best destinations for just golf.
