Going straight in the bag.

Need to get it cut down to 34 and going to switch to either a rosemark grip or black matador.

Initial impressions are good. I haven't hit any of the Tensei Pro shafts before and thought that it felt really smooth.

How do you compare the Orange V2 to the GP and the Agera? In terms of loading and feel. I have had an Agera X twice and currently game the GP 7x and I am very intrigued by the orange V2. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I'll reserve some judgment as I have only had 2 range sessions with the Orange v2. Our season is done in the northeast. One of the sessions was on a monitor and the numbers were good, lower spin than I expected and launch was about what I was expecting. The feel is great, really smooth. Feels tight but not boardy. Doesn't feel demanding. Feel is probably best compared to the other two although its been awhile since I've hit the Agera. Tough to compare as well as the GP I have is playing at 44 and is really light as it's a 6x and the Agera is an S flex. So, not really apples to apples across the board. Still early days with the Tensei and haven't had it on a course yet.

I've never had a full fitting and am looking forward to it. This will hopefully help me to do less tinkering throughout the season.

Perfect. Thanks for the info. I'm going for a fitting in January and am going to try the white and blue. Depending on launch and spin numbers, I may make a decision to go the orange v2 route.  Will have to see what the numbers say. Thanks for your thoughts.

I've been meaning to post an update after having a a full bag fitting at Club Champion.

Pre-Fitting Bag
Taylormade 2016 M2 9.5 - Tensei Orange v2
Taylormade 2016 M1 3w 15* - Graphite Design AD DI
Cobra Baffler F6 18.5* - Aldila Tour Blue
Callaway Apex 4-PW - Recoil
Vokey SM6: 52F, 56S, 60M
Odyssey Tank 2-Ball

The main thing that I wanted to get right in this fitting were shaft, length and lie for irons. They were running their 50% off deal, so I just decided to do the whole bag. I was planning on continuing to use the Apex heads as they offer a lot of forgiveness and distance but also a decent sized, good look to them.

Iron shafts
After warming up, we dove right into getting the right shaft fit. This went surprisingly quick since we didn't need to test different heads. We hit a bunch of different shafts: Project X, KBS Tour, Recoils (same shaft as my original but at std length), a few different Nippons and Steelfibers. We didn't try any DG as I don't like the weight and haven't had good results in the past. We very quickly learned that the Recoils that I was playing were a terrible fit. I was hitting them way too high and not getting any distance because of it. They were also way too long (1.5 over standard). This contributed my poor iron play last year as well as a subconscious swing change to correct for the length which was having ill effects on my game. We narrowed it down between the KBS Tour, Nippon Modus 105 and Steelfiber i95s. The KBS Tour and Nippon Modus were very close in distance but dispersion wasn't consistent. We decided on the SteelFibers. On average, increased 11 miles of ball speed and 12 yards of carry over my current shaft with better dispersion and a much better flight.

3 Wood
I was previously using an M1 with an AD-DI shaft that was way too light, a 6x. This was producing a lot of erratic shots as the lightness was bad for my tempo, which had a tendency to get too quick.

We went with an M2 given that I had had one at some point last year and liked it. We tried a few shafts that just weren't working. We switched to a Tensei Blue 70 gram, which worked well. I was hitting hit almost as far as some of the worse fitting drivers. I ended up picking up a used M2 with a HZRDUS Black and like it quite a bit. I have a Tensei Blue fairway shaft to swap into it but going to ride this out and see how it works. The HZRDUS profile seems to work well for me (more on that in driver fitting).

Driver
The driver portion of the fitting took by far the longest. I came in with my M2/ Tensei Orange v2 that I had picked up after reading all the rave reviews. I just don't have enough juice in my swing to really make it shine in a TX flex. It feels great and performs OK on the course but was ruled out in the fitting really early. Since I liked the Tensei profile and it seemed to work in the fairway, we tried both the White and the Blue. Neither of us were really dazzled by the results. We swapped shafts around a bit trying some Accra, some Paderson, and a few Fujikura shafts. Nothing was working. I tend to spin the ball stupidly low and launch it a tad on the high side. We started messing around with all the newer drivers to see if a certain head felt better.

Cobra King LTD / F7+ - loved the feel, numbers weren't there. The LTD Pro gave me some of the best dispersion though.
Titleist 917 D3 - hated it, spun too much...i havent liked a titleist driver since the 910
Ping G - i hate the feel of ping drivers, spun too much
Big Bertha Fusion- straight, no distance
2017 M1 - spin for my swing was too low

The two heads that were competing were the Epic GBB and the M2. After spending the large part of the fitting trying to find a shaft, it came down to an Epic GBB with HZRDUS T1100 or M2 with HZRDUS Yellow. The M2/Yellow combo was pumping out really good numbers, while the Epic/T1100 was putting out consistently straight shots with great numbers as well. I could've walked out with either combo really but since I already had the M2 and knew I could easily get myself a Yellow, it was an easy choice.  Especially considering that it would've been ~$1k for the Epic combo.

Putter
The putter fitting is kind of underwhelming there. Based on my stroke, it said I should play a blade. Historically, I don't actually putt well with blades. I recently picked up a Spider Limited DJ model and might grab an EVNROLL ER2. Putter spot is somewhat up for grabs although putt very well at the end of the season after dialing in the heavier 2ball.

We didn't really make any changes to wedges or 5 wood. I tried a lot of wedges last year on my own, Callaway MD3s, MD2 Tour Grinds, Cobras, Clevelands and the Vokeys that I have. I like the Vokeys and know the grinds that work for me. So, why change?

Post fitting bag is below. Although, I have been eyeing some extras to try. Thinking about a Utility/Driving iron instead of the Baffler or maybe just putting a Tensei Blue in the Baffler. I also want to try some Srixon irons. Although, I probably shouldn't.
Taylormade M2 9.5* - Black Mamba Prototype
Taylormade M2 3W 15* - Tensei Blue
Cobra King F7 Hybrid 19* - Tensei Blue
Taylormade P790 4-PW - Nippon Modus 120
Taylormade Milled Grind - 50, 54, 60

I guess I should've mentioned. We started driver on one day. Got about as far as we could before I was totally wiped out and then I came back a few weeks later just to confirm the findings. I would have preferred an outdoor fitting but given the time of year, I was just happy to get all the data and see some real numbers.

DJ Spider Tour is not going to make the bag. I really liked it for stuff 15 feet and out. From 5 feet and in, it really wasn't working. Like any golfer, I want that range to be really solid and head to head, the Tank 2 Ball is better for me right now.  Overall, it had a nice, although slightly hot feel off the face and sounded a little clicky. I may re-visit it at a later date and put a Pistol GT or something on it but with the season starting in a week or so, no reason to experiment too much with a slot in the bag that's pretty set.

Finally getting the bag settled. Switched out Callaway Apex irons with Srixon Z545's. Also, switched shafts from SteelFiber in the Apex to Modus in the 545's. Moral of the story is that I don't like iron fittings indoors and not on grass. The results didn't translate well for me and I basically wasted a month of our already short season.

Sticking with the M2 stuff. While the Epic SZ felt better, there was way too much lefts in the combo that i was playing. I also put the Spider Tour Jason Day model in the bag with a GTR 2.0 grip. I like it thus far.

Lastly, trying a new driver shaft just because. Noticed some spinning up and higher launch with the HZRDUS Yellow of late.

Shaft is going to change but like the feel and sound of the G400 LST. I just needed a little break from the M2.
