Anyone know anything about golf in Dubai? Is it crazy expensive?

Just came across this sub-forum, so I hope I'm not too late to help

Playing golf in Dubai is definitely far more expensive compared to playing in Malaysia. I can get 2 rounds at The Legends in JB for around RM192 total, and a round of golf at The Els Club in Dubai is AED375 on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) and AED565 on weekends. Exchange rate is pretty close between AED and RM.

However, to be far, playing golf in Dubai is a refreshing change from the courses we typically get in Singapore or Malaysia. Condition of the courses are top-shelf, with firm fairways, beautiful greens and low humidity. I can play a round of golf between December and February without breaking a sweat, that's how good the weather is.

Al Badia Golf Club (formerly known as the Four Seasons Golf Club)
The Montgomerie (5 minutes drive from Dubai Media City / Dubai Internet City, The Springs, The Greens)
The Els Club
Emirates Golf Club (Majlis and Wadi courses), 5 minutes drive from Dubai Media City / Dubai Internet City, The Springs, The Greens
Jumeirah Golf Estates (Fire and Earth courses are currently open)

Jebel Ali Golf Club is good if all you want is a quick 9-hole (not a Par 3)
Emirates Golf Club has a Par 3 course that's around the corner from the Dubai Media/Internet City
