GD story says his winning putter was a 12 year old model that he sent back to the Scotty Cameron Putter Shop to have it refinished and tungsten added to the sole to get it up to 350g.

Is it a NP2 with rocker sole, or a Newport 2 Timeless?  The topline is wider than the Scotty DJ uses, and the Tiger model.

It's amazing how these guys tune their bags for 160-240 yard approaches on most holes, the wedges are really only used for scrambling.  Most courses I play I'm using a PW, 52, or even 56 on a lot of 2nd shots.  It's worth having the 4 wedges for me.  Of course, Speith is one of the few exceptions but so many pros just go the PW/54/60 route.

Just goes to show it's two different games altogether.

When I was younger playing back in late 80's, I used 3-PW and a 55* Wilson Sand Wedge, that's it, no gap, lob wedge, etc.  I played some great golf in those years, then tried multiple wedges in my bag, didn't make my scores better.  Then I went back to two wedges (52/58) and didn't score better but found myself wanting a 56* at times or a 60* at times.  I may try the 54*/60* for a few rounds and see how it goes (wasting hundreds of dollars on wedges?  Yeah, that's a problem for me)...always on the drawing board.  Part of me doesn't want to solve the puzzle and be settled, I think I like the chase and tinkering...
