So guys.. I have been on a hell of a run of sweet courses... I have a few friends in high places. lol.. I live in central Michigan and in September I played Crystal Downs. I just got back from west coast last week where I played Olympic Club (cliffs par 3 and Ocean course),Harding Park, and all 5 courses at Bandon Dunes! (Yes, Bandon is golf heaven!)  I have a chance to go play Congressional in May or June but turning it down because as of yesterday, I got an invitation to play Pine Valley in July... 4 rounds in 3 days at PV and can't fricken wait!!! I need to start playing the lotto! I feel like I'm in the middle of winning golf lotto now!!  I guess this thread is to hear anybody's thoughts about any of the courses I mentioned if they have played them or any trips coming that you are excited about????

That would be a sweeeet west coast trip.. Since getting back from Bandon, I have been saying that if your an avid golfer and don't get a chance to take a trip there, you haven't fulfilled a golfers life!!! It is that good!!!!  Start looking into booking now or saving now my friend!!!

I'd say my best run was Carnoustie, The Old Course and Kingsbarns ..... in a 3 day stretch !!!!

Last day had us winded out of Muirfield or it would have been quite a 4 streak !!!!!!!

I've also had some incredible runs of golf up here in the Muskoka's in the course of a week ... RockyCrest, Grandview, Deerhurst Highlands, Taboo, Lake Joseph, BigWin Island

They are phenomenal! The four championship courses are all unique and world-class, and the par three course is a lot of fun if you can add a little competition to it!

For pictures, check out my course reviews: Bandon Dunes, Bandon Trails, Old Macdonald, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort Experience (including Bandon Preserve, etc.).

For sure a pure golf destination with some of the greatest courses you will ever play. It's Disney Land for guys.

I had a pretty good run this summer. Played The Dunes Club (Michigan), Crystal Downs (Michigan), Butler National (Chicago), and Rich Harvest Farms (Chicago). I have a Good connection and may try to sneak on Sand Valley in Wisconsin next summer along with Cabot Links/Cliffs.

I have so many pics on my phone, it's ridiculous. I did so much research leading up to Bandon, it was stupid. Here is my own take of separate courses. Bandon dunes was my favorite, great coast holes and views and great playability! Bandon trails was number 2 for me, great track running through forest but great routing and views.(only one not next to coast but a great change from others)!! Pacific was 3rd, they say it's Bandon on steroids, a little more difficult than Bandon and a little more "grand" in terms of coast holes?  Old Mac was 4, the most unique, in and out of coast, you could hit it ANYWHERE off the tee but greens were big and tough!!!  The preserve (13 hole par 3) was a great throw in because if you play later in day, we played in an 8-some and drank some beers and played partner 2 man scramble. Great coast views on the whole thing.. I wouldn't go to Bandon. if I couldn't play all 5!!!ImageUploadedByGolfWRX Mobile1448057201.812191.jpg ImageUploadedByGolfWRX Mobile1448057235.514969.jpg ImageUploadedByGolfWRX Mobile1448057279.867343.jpg ImageUploadedByGolfWRX Mobile1448057327.002992.jpg

How is The Dunes club? is that the 9 holer in western Michigan. If it is, we were thinking of throwing a day together with Lost Dunes and Dunes club?

I've actually caddied there for a while. I love it. It's different than any other golf course I've played. It's hard to have a bad day out there.

There is a bunch of holes that look exactly like that. A lot of holes you can see other holes and homes from the other 2 courses (not trails). And believe it or not, it's not as hard as you think. all courses are fairly generous off the tee, the difficulty is the firmness off the turf and size of greens.. You really do have to putt or chip and run a lot of short game shots.. And pick the right tees also. we played 1 up from tips which each course played around 6200-6400? Which for some of us would seem kinda short but it was plenty when you factored wind and such!!

Incredibly gracious offer and when I throw in that we're also playing Medinah #3 it might spark even more interest but alas, we are filled for now.  You are #1 on the waiting list Sir.
