Me and my pop are planning a trip for my birthday/his anniversary celebration with my lovely mother and my girlfriend. We are looking at Dormie, Country Club of NC, Pine Needles, Pinehurst No. 8...best course for a reasonable rate? Thoughts? Suggestions are all welcomed. Thanks fellas

Only one course? Or are you playing multiple courses?

What type of courses do you and your dad enjoy?

Multiple courses, Saturday/Sunday deal. In the past, we enjoy #4 and #8. Have already played 8 but wouldn't mind it again, it's just a little pricey to go the 4 of us. So, a little cheaper than 8...but Saturday Sunday. One round with the 4 of us, one just him and I.

Personally I'd probably play Tobacco Road and Dormie, but mid pines and pine needles are also fantastic.

Yeah we are looking at all of those really. I didn't know if there was a hidden gem that someone thoroughly enjoyed that was a steal or what.

Aside from the courses already mentioned, the Magnolia Course at Pinewild Country Club doesn't get a lot of hype but it's one of the best tracks in the Sandhills. Of those already mentioned, Mid-Pines is one I'd play for sure. It's absolutely pure now following the renovation and addition of bermuda greens.

The "steal" down there is finding a Golfnow time for Southern Pines. I've seen them as low as $32, which is absolutely ridiculous. It's a great, classic, Donald Ross track

We played Southern Pines CC last November and it was awesome. Classic Ross and underrated for the Pinehurst area for sure.

Dormie, Southern Pines, Pine Needles and Mid Pines would be on the list for me.  Alternates:  Tabacco Road, Forest Creek (Private but I heard you can get on?)

Just got hooked up with that deal from the CGA to play mid pines or pine needles for 69.99 with a free same day replay.  Great xmas present for dad and I.

I think we will probably go with mid pines.  We played number 4 a few weeks back in late october and got rained on but really enjoyed it.  Hoping to make it back there in January or February.
