I have the gc2 with TGC software.  Pretty awesome software you can play people online all across the country.  There is even a league I played in last year and keeps your handicap and everything.  I honestly don't use it much when it's nice out but, can't beat it for winter.

Also,  you had no issues running it off an Iphone 6? I remember it basically saying you need an ipad air or ipad mini with retina display.

That is when i ordered mine.  I figured even though it was a pre order with a new company, it would come around.  Just seemed much more easy to justify at 1.5k vs 2k.

No, it actually runs faster on my iPhone 6+ than it does my iPad. The time to show is definitely shorter.

If you are going to upgrade in the future, skip the pr20 and go with the par2pro HQ material for your screen.  Your quilt although not smooth may actually be giving you a better image than pr20 would.  I have the pr20 and while the image is good, it has a significant amount of bleed through on the light.

Then the big upgrade will be going to TGC on skytrak.
Thanks for the info. I'm getting ready to upgrade the screen coming up and just started putting in some research and saw a lot of comments about the light bleeding through which made me a little leery. The par2pro HQ material is definitely towards the top of my list. It costs about $100 more than the PR20, but looks like a solid upgrade.

Same here. I passed on it then hoping to find a Vector Pro that would get the job done, but that didn't work out. Ended up costing me about $300 more in the long run.

Just wanted to throw an update out...

I haven't played a round of golf in a month and have pretty much focused exclusively on swinging on the SkyTrak. Had my first round yesterday and shot a 73 which felt like a round that should have been in the 60s. The I turned around and shot a career low 66 today after 3 putting the 1st hole!!!!

Right now, I am in full command of my game and my swing has NEVER been more consistent. I hit 11 of 14 fairways, 16 of 18 greens with one of the misses being about a yard off the front of the green on a front pin location and the second miss being on the left fringe pin high. I had 2 eagles... one on a par 5 after reaching the green in two and I pitched in on a short par 4 after nearly driving the green. Then I had 3 more birdies and the 1 bogey on the 1st hole. I have been as low as a +2.5 handicap many moons ago, but I have literally never hit the ball as well as I am right now.

The SkyTrak has made such an impact on my game. Immediately after getting it, it became clear that I had too much side spin on the ball. Even on good shots, I was in the 1200-1500 side spin range and bad shots could be 2000+, so there was way too much curvature on my shots good or bad. That 15 yard draw on my good shots turned into a 30 yard hook in a hurry. In the past month or so, I've reduced my average side spin down to 200-600, so that 30 yard miss is now a 12 yard miss. The good draw is now 2 yards instead of 15. My consistency is off the charts compared to where it was.

Wow this thread is killing me.  I have a net/gym I put in years ago because I worked so much and we had a empty office so I commandeered it.  Just had my first child and working a ton so getting to the range may be tough.  This is so tempting.  Hitting into a net always worries me without feedback on ball flight.

Dornstar you are really making this tempting with how it has helped your game.  to dial in yardages would be a dream.  Especially wedges.

I have a similar setup but with a flightscope instead of the skytrak. TGC integration hopefully this winter.

Maybe we'll play against each other should you get TGC too.

I can't putt wth my flightscope tho...

I've made a dramatic improvement in my full swing, but the wedges are really where it shines. Every morning, I start my day by making a cup of coffee and then heading into "the lab" and doing a wedge ladder drill from 20-80 yards. I start at 20 and I have to be +/- 2 yards of that number and then move to 25, 30, 35, 40, etc all the way up to 80 and then back down to 20. If it takes more than 3 shots on a yardage, I get bumped down to the previous distance. Of course, the higher numbers are more challenging, but I've definitely found that 65 yard number is really the number that gives me the most trouble for whatever reason. I tend to be long on it. At any rate, when I get a wedge in my hand, I just feel like I'm going to knock down the flag. It's a good feeling.

More than anything, just the volume of shots I'm hitting is helping. My body hates me for it and I wake up feeling like I'm 90 years old, but I'm able to put in some significant hours on my game.

That's awesome because of this thread I'm going to put one in my basement. I was wondering what is the putting like?  Do you have a separate putting area or do you practice with the sky trak?

While you can putt on the SkyTrak, I haven't used it for that. Short game and putting are really the only thing I go to the range for and a lot of the technical aspects of putting I take care of on my BirdieBall putting green.

I'll set the SkyTrak up on my BirdieBall putting green tomorrow and fool around with it to see if there's any value in putting with it outside of playing simulation holes. My gut says that putting on it would be more "fun" than helpful.

Skytrak doesn't offer putting yet. I believe it's supposedly coming in the next release.

Thanks for the information. I would be surprised if the current version had any putting data. I was planning on having a separate putting area anyway, however if the putting data is any good I might consider waiting for the next version.

I always hit into a net at home and I've improved my contact, but hated that I couldn't get any flight feedback.

Thanks to Dornstar, I just ordered a SkyTrak!  Now I need to order an Ipad Air 2.

just curious, what is the longest club you can hit with a certain ceiling height. i'm 6'3, with 9ft basement ceiling, and don't feel comfortable hitting anything more than 9 iron.

i'd really like to get something set up, but deciding whether this is worth doing in basement if limited to short irons.

i've hit into a net in the garage, so maybe a setup that limits shot info to an ipad instead of hitting into full screen.

I would assume at least 11'. My ceilings are 98" high and I can't hit driver at 5'10.

I can hit up to a 2 hybrid, but I also have a cutout in the ceiling for the AC that the clubhead passes through. With the 3 wood, it's hit or miss whether I'll graze the ceiling, but most of the time I don't. With the driver, the club is too long for it to pass through that channel. I wish I could move my entire setup closer to the center of the garage so my driver would pass through, but then the garage door assembly gets in the way of the projector.

Ya im 6'5 and I need 11 foot ceilings for a driver. Also if you are practicing mechanics and improving  your swing, I think you can get a lot of good work in with just the short irons.

Here's 25 straight 4 irons. Every shot was inside of 10 yards left or right and all had a tiny little draw to it. My game is really coming along and I would literally take every one of those shots from 215 out with a 4 iron in my hand. Despite being a + handicap golfer, I have NEVER had this kind of consistency.

Wow, great work.

Are you finding the distances in Skytrak to match your on course yardages for each club?

What is the minimum ceiling height to hit driver for someone 6ft tall.

My daughter and I both hit driver in our garage with no issues what so ever (except for the occasional shank-but that's another story).  Our ceiling is 10' 2" (I know this because I installed the attic ladder when I built the house.) and I am 6' 4" and she is 5' 9".  And we are standing on the same hitting mat that dornstar uses - which IMO is pretty thick.
