so I was reading the thread about thinking your bag is ugly, and it got me thinking about my setup. started rooting around the internt looking at the offerings, seeing what there was to see. then, today the rents ask what I'm thinking I might like for christmas. . .

anyways, I have fallen in love with the Taylor Made monaco bag

I love the classic, timeless look. but I also like that it looks a bit "intimidating", with the black and white. I've already decided that I'd wrather haul around a cart bag then carry an ugly stand bag, especially since I DON'T LIKE a dual strap setup. much prefer a single strap.

anyways, a couple questions;

1. does anyone have experience with this bag,
2. what do you think of it, whether you've used it or not,
3. and most importantly, do you guys know of any other bags I should look at that have the traits I'm looking for. . .classic, timeless, and intimidating? I'd also prefer black and white, but would be into some red as well.

thanks for any help!

a friend of mine has one and loves it. his is the blue and white. i would buy the black and white though.

take a look at the TM Lancer bag on sale at TGW.com. MUCH better bag and more intimidating. the charcoal/black with the red trim is awesome!!

New 2008 Bennington Quiet Organizer10E looks nice.
I have thought about getting this one.
It is suppossed to stop all the "bag chatter" and damgage from clubs hitting each other.
Indivual iron/hybrid slots and a wood section. Has a putter scabbard on the side of the bag.

Has anyone tried bennington bags? Here is a picuture.

that one seems pretty darn busy to me. . .but its cool. definetly one of the things I want is a 14 way top, my irons are already chattered up, I don't want them to get any worse.

I tell you, I've looked and looked, and I just can't find anything I like nearly as much as the monaco. I saw the lancer. . .very modern, and I like it. but its just so busy, and I think I prefer the monaco.

that is Titleist's new hybrid carry/cart bag. 14 slot full length divider. the straps have their own stow pocket. All the pockets are accessible on a cart. Only comes in black and white. Mine is on order right now.

that thing is sweet! its officially added to the list. if it came with a single strap I'd like it even better. I just hate dual straps. I always feel like my clubs are going to fall out.

Not sure if this if this is your bag (sorry  ), but I've been thinking about picking up a Callaway weekender bag

If by intimidating you mean frightening, you could opt for the camo version

naw, but you do get a free bowl of soup!

yeah, I actually hate dual strap systems. dunno why exactly. . .but like I said, when my clubs are behind me and my bag is parallel to the ground I feel like my clubs are going to fall out all over the place. I like having the bag at my side. my first bag was borrowed from a friends friend, and it had dual straps. I only used one and kept it at my side. now its just what I'm used to.

I think the thing that sets the monaco off is the suede. its just looks bad ace.

oh, and I suppose by intimidating I mean a bag that if you had to play a match against someone and they showed up with it, you'd think "crap, this guy LOOKS hard to beat".

when I look at a bag like the lancer, I think it looks pretty rad, but will it still look rad in 6 months, or will I be tired of it? I think the monaco will still look awsome even after seeing it every day. but maybe thats just me. . .

by the way, thanks everyone for your thoughts! I was thinking I wasn't going to get any replies at all at first.

sounds like you weren't using the dual strap system right. On my ping hoofer I always had the bag at an angle prolly like 30* up or so. I am tall though so this didn't get in the way walking. Maybe if you are shorter it does get in the way.
