What's the rule on the pga tour concerning tattoos, is it looked down on, do you have to cover them up? I mean I just have one on my tricep which is nothing compared to what my friends have. They get weird looks when I take them to the driving range lol.

At a club near me a local rule says'' all tattoo's must be covered''but they're not as strict on it nowadays.

The best golfer I know looks like a Thug, tats, earrings and we play all around me at all the nice courses and they never say a word. He hits it like 320 and can break par. I think its cool to watch people see him tee off. they never believe it.

I don't get the big attraction to tattoos. I don't think they present a very good first impression. Or even a second or third impression. If they are simple and small in both number and size then it is probably not as big of a deal. The tattoos that cover an entire arm, I don't get that.

One of my salesteam has a few big tattoos. When we go on sales calls (or meet with cystomers in any environment), he wears long sleeves to keep them covered. He went to check out the golf club here in town and as soon as they spotted his tats their mood changed drastically. :( Golf is still pretty conservative in general.

I don't think much of them anymore myself. I got one when I turned 18 and wish I hadn't now. It's from my shoulder to just above my elbow on my left arm and might barely be seen when I have a short sleeve shirt on. They are so common now though that I wouldn't think it's all that big a deal. Seems like a couple years after I got mine they became the new rage and everyone went and got one. I've consider some sort of removal or just getting a much bigger one to cover the old one, either option will cost a lot of money though.

I have a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm and bi & lower delt on my right. I will probably have 2 3/4's plus my calves and back when I'm done if not more. I'm a software developer so I get looks at work and when I golf sure I get looks, and have spent majority of rounds discussing why! LOL I look at it like this, I love them and have always wanted one even when I was a kid so as long as I'm happy that's what counts. When I've played private courses or corporate events once people talk to me they seem to be a little more at ease. THey see that I'm a very good person not some punk, and I'm a very intelligent well spoken guy so the initial shock of seeing flames and skulls goes away.

Thats pretty sick, ppl do judge you right away unfortunately based on your appearance. I used to work at driving range when i had 00's in my ear and I would get looks, but my friends who who have 2 full sleeves, neck and 3/4" lobes thats hilarious the looks they get, especially on the golf course. But both of them are the nicest people you will ever meet.

I'm trying to get time with my guy for this weekend coming up, I'm hoping to go colors but I want to have like shaded skulls and stuff in the flames. And the lower part of the flames the negative space will be shaded in black.

No Tattoos here, but I could care less. Id rather played with a 500lb tattoo'd lady who respected the game than a mr clean that acted like an idiot on the course.

I grew up playing and I play to a 3 handicap. When I got out of high school I went into the music industry and started to tour around the country with national bands running sound. Back then My hair was about six inches longer than my waist, and that included my bangs. It was always fun to go play at some country club back then, because I would get so many looks. It really pissed them off when I hit the ball 25 yards past them, and beat them like a drum on the course. Some of the best years to make money playing. They really hated paying some long haired guy who just beat them by 10 strokes. hehehe that was some fun.

The way I look at it is that its your body and if you're happy with it then kudos to you. Who am I to judge? I have often thought of getting a tattoo- I would just want it to mean something to me. My Grandpa had tattoos on both arms and hated them. He got them when he was young and in the Air Force. They didn't mean anything to him, he did it just to fit in. That is the major reason that I have never gotten one.

I got no problem with them..... A lot of them look cool. I would never get one tho, I would have to shave too many parts of my body to see them anyway.....

They are so common now, I don't know what the big deal is. Maybe at a blue blood country club, but geez, most places I can't see people turning up their noses.

Here is what the guy in my avatar has said about it...

SFS: Do you still get tattoos?

MN: Yeah, but not because I want to. It’s only to finish what I started. I’m not as eager as I was when I was young to sit under the needle for four hours and hurt. Plus, I was into the whole tattoo thing before it got so popular. It seems like nowadays it is more of a statement if you have none.

SFS: They are everywhere.

MN: Yeah, when a soccer mom wants to talk to you about tattoos, it’s time to quit.
