Best feeling cast clubs I ever played.
When I clicked on this thread I didn't think I was gonna reply to it and then I saw your reply. I played these several years ago, pre MP 64's, and for kicks I got the PW and 8 out of the garage a couple of weeks ago and walked across the street to the range to hit em. I had forgotten how good these irons felt, maybe it's the KBS tour 90's in em but they sure felt good. Made me smile!

Thanks, I'm gonna give them a go, I've got way too many sets and just can't decide on a set to plant in the bag! I like that they are .25 inches shorter than most!

Basically thought it would be fun to call out some of the best under rated clubs of all time. I went out to a course today while away on business and played with rental clubs. The set was 3-pw wilson tour cast fat shaft irons. These things were fugly but played like some of the best gi clubs I've ever touched. Not the longest by any means bit straight as an arrow every time I tried my best to hook one with a huge inside out draw type swing and couldn't move it an inch. These things were straight. The shafts had no torque at all but there was no twisting no matter how heavy I got one. They were really amazing and I've already hit the bay looking. I'm a club ho it's a curse but made me wonder what other clubs I've missed because they weren't on the beaten path.

OMG really?  There is no such club that hits a ball straight every time.   You must have put really good swings on them.  :D

for ridiculous value, on it's way out of production sets selling for $399,  those MacGregor VIP forged CB with KBS Tour shafts should be remembered.

My old Cleveland TA5's were the super GI shiz of their day. You might call them a poor man's Pings but they legitimized so many of my poorer swings that I'll never be a able to thank them enough.
Hit 'em hard, they'll land somewhere.

Wilson Ultra!  One of the best perimeter weighted cast irons I ever hit. Even had lots of feel around the greens for the bump and runs. Loved that set of clubs.

I still have a combo set of Maxfli's with Australian blade short irons and Black dot revolution long irons. So much fun to play, but for the amount I get out its hard to justify using them. In more recent times I'd throw another vote to the Adams XTD forged.

Bridgestone irons generally under the radar just because most stores and pro shops don't carry them. Ignored by golf magazines too.  I only learned about them by hanging out on GolfWRX.
