Don't get me wrong, I like Tiger just as much as the next guy. I enjoy watching him dominate the game and appreciate that I live in a time that I can watch who could be the greatest player that walked the earth. However, I did not know what to make of the blurb in the latest Golf World...
"Woods skips baptism of daughter in Sweden."
The ceremony conflicted with Woods' annual charity event, The Tiger Woods Learning Center Block Party, in CA. It was obviously a sentimental/traditional reason for the trip to Sweden, as the blurb goes on to state Sam was baptized in the same bowl used for other members of the family.
Then, you turn the page and there is a picture of Woods making a smiley face in a dessert dish with a celebrity chef. Woods is all smiles. This, taken at the charity event he attended in lieu of the baptism.
My question is, why not make it work so you can attend both? To me, there is nothing more important than your own family. No matter what your religion, this was an important life event, and it bothered me a little to read Tiger was not there for it. I am sure there is probably more to the story, but by the looks of the two pages in Golf World, it seems as though money is king, all else second.
What are your thoughts?

I personally believe that it is insane that he missed it. I would think that a man with the money that he has could attend easily. It comes down to priorities. The other thing to consider is his religion preferences. He is a devout Buddhist, and I would bet that his daughter was not being baptized as a Buddhist. Regardless of that though, he still should have been there.

Tiger is not Christian. Why would he feel compelled to attend a baptism? I am impressed he allowed the baptism at all. It would have probably made his wife and her parents a bit upset had he not. In the end, Tiger does what he does because that's what he wants to do. He is an adult and he has a right to do what he wishes...

Topic's been covered, and subsequently shot down (five days ago). Something about relativity to a golf forum, taboo subject of religion, or something or 'nother.
