I'm planning a trip from Ireland to Pinehurst in mid to late November.

What is the weather like at that time?

What condition are the courses likely to be in? (Any work done on them?)

I will be staying for a week, should I stick to the Pinehurst resort courses or are there others worth venturing out for?

Any help much appreciated. Thanks

For course info, check out the tobacco road website.. they have links to most of the courses around pinehurst. If i remember right.. within 20 miles of the resort are where the majority of the courses are. It is very easy to navigate around there.

Mid to late Nov can be perfect and it can be bad. Figure about 60 for the highs would be my guess. There are plenty of great places to play other than the resort. All depends on what you want to pay. This is the same for lodging.
Best no frills place to stay, eat and drink is the Pinecrest Inn. This is hands down best place for golfers. Everyone who is anyone in golf has been there.
If you want a golf resort hard to beat Pine Needles. You can play MidPines as part of the deal. Food excellent, too.
If you can, play The National, MidSouth, No 2, PineNeedles, No 8, No 4, No 6. Some rave about No 7, it isn't my favorite. Avoid at all costs The Carolina and Little River Farms. Some mid-priced options that are good include Legacy, Anderson Creek. Tobacco Road is a little ways away.
Of course Country Club of NC is there, too, but it is private, as is Forest Creek. If you can swing those, play them.
Other restaurants worth checking out include the Squire Pub and Raffale's in Aberdeen. I have been unable to find a decent steak place in the area so might as well stick with Outback. I haven't been to LobSteer in 20 years so I can't say if it is still worth the price.
Pinehurst is a great area as it has something for every budget. Easy to get around but be careful about driving in the Village if you have had a cocktail or two. In fact, be careful about that no matter where you are.
Enjoy your trip.

JFR Barn on US#1 (between LobSteer and Squire's Pub) is a great place for a steak...definitely try it!

Last time I was there it was strictly mediocre. I hope that I caught it on a bad night. Used to be one of my favorite places. Great salad bar for sure.

Pine Crest is a great place to stay. They have a special that is very reasonable and includes breakfast and dinner. Food is pretty good. Good location to downtown Pinehurst. Pine Needles is also very good but can be pricey. Bonefish Grill is very good, JR's is hit or miss. Courses to play- Pine Needles, Mid South, Pinehurst 2 and 4, Mid Pines, and if you want an old Donald Ross- Southern Pines CC is a lot of fun. Enjoy your trip, weather should be great.

Check out the Magnolia Inn too. The Pub is great for after golf and their dining room is also great. Hit the main resort (Pinehurst) for steak - the Carolina Dining Room was killer. Donald Ross Grill and Ryder Cup Lounge good before/after golf hangouts too. November weather should be fine - probably will be overseeding the courses or it will have already come in. Nothing big though.
