After all the debate about the 2008 season from Macgregor, I have been able to get you guys a sneak preview of some of their new offerings. Macgregor is going back to a forged line up, Don White designs that are 1025 forged carbon steel. They expect to be available this upcoming december/january.

Those look nice. They didn't waste any time after dumping Barry Shneider going back to MacGregors roots, classic looking forged irons.

Using Don White to help brand them is a smart move as well.

All in due time. A change is coming. New driver, fairway woods and hybrid are on the horizon as well.

Haha, I wonder if MT is an abbreviation for MacTec. I seriously don't know, it could mean something else.

Those irons are beautiful. And the wedges do look a lot like vokeys. Do you have any topline shots of the blades?

Just a bit of an improvement from the awful NVG2 irons!

MT = MacGregor Tourney

They've been stamping that on their irons for decades!

Boy, that's straight outta left field. Those are some great, great looking irons.

they were getting progressively uglier, and then all of a sudden someone in charge grows a brain? How often does that happen?

I really hope the nvg's go on the chopping block next. MacG had something going with the updated Eye O Matic and then suddenly went off the deep end.

Unfortunately for Baddley he doesn't seem to have much choice. MacGregor may be trying to focus on revitalizing their struggling brand (more important) before they're really able to support and grow their pro staff. Can't put the cart before the horse!

Who knows.....a turnaround may come sooner than expected, and for damn sure THESE IRONS ARE A GREAT START!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

They are absolutely beautiful, however unless they come out with a line for the average golfer there is no way they are going to be able to make it. The numbers will not be there.

Those look awesome from the pics but Mac's always looked too long heel to toe with a very shallow face height. How do these look excactly?

Now thats more like it!

Classic good looks instead of crappy grey/blue stickers with 'Tec'! written everywhere, or blades with stupid bulges.

That would be my fear with the forged cavity backs. If they put the cg too low for the everyday consumer, they will launch too high for the more accomplished golfer. The forged cbs are beautiful.

I'll be interested to see if the wedges are also forged 1025 or 8620. The grinds look pretty good.

Don White will never get the respect that he truly deserves, but these designs might help to change that.
