Looking for help from the Membership. We are thinking about doing a ClubWRX Belt Buckle and a GolfWRX one as well. This would be a high end belt, retail for about $120. The buckle will be removeable so you could buy multiple belts to interchange with the buckle. I have a sample that I'll post pictures of in a bit.

The design can't be too detailed as its a buckle. This is not going to be easy, so let's hear some ideas. Remember, we are looking for a ClubWRX and a regular GolfWRX look. Similar as in the past, if we go to production, we will award the winner(s) one of the winning production designs!

ClubWRX is easier,
just a elongated C with WRX in the center, it could be two tones as silver C with gold WRX.
Golf WRX is more difficult,
I'm thinking of a complete circle with golf lettering on the top half and WRX on the lower half, or could do some angle with the lettering. Two tone of course to have the letters stand out.

The two tone could also be done with fancy metal coloring ( purple and red gold colors are some of them )

Either the "G" logo, or what Spin Doctor has (minus the dotcom), and I'm liking it. We just need to make sure that Rory Sabbatini won't be allowed to have one. Last thing we need is for GolfWRX's growth to be stunted by association. :D

I like that Harry. Now I just have to work on being able to see my belt buckle and I can think about getting one if it's ever made!

I like the idea of just the letter "G". For clubwrx, you could do the "badge" with a logo inside. You could also do a "WRX" buckle and it would be a little more generic.

We are looking at doing a small initial order. I need to submit it by Monday so, not much time. If people can post it, then it will help considerably. There will be a choice of black, brown, or a white belt. English bridal leather. Very high quality and the buckle will be removable so, you can buy multiple belts.

Are you going with the wider belts? I hope so, as 1" belts are so outdated IMO.

Now don't laugh too hard at my attempts... It was done real quick.

Maybe the ClubWRX could be a ball mark magnet that could be taken off of "G?"

For the "old-style" (bottom-most) belt buckle - it would have to have a little more ho' style - in gold lettering or something.

Some interesting ideas. The buckle is square shape. I will get a pic up a sample tonight.

I like Spin Doc's the most, atm. Just remember it needs to be milled from one piece of metal, with an oil can finish, and custom stamping options :cheesy:

I think it must remain very simple, all metal, no color or it risks becoming cheesy. A nice offset version of the G icon with no web URL would look sophisticated and classy, or maybe, if done well, just simply "Golf" with the iconic "G". Think how simple the JL belts are. I like Spin Doctor's sketch, but I would drop the Golfwrx.com text.

I'd buy Spin Doctor's belt above...just lose the ".com" Great sketch. :clapping:

Well here is an attempt at a few ideas. I figure you could make the G the golfwrx G or you could keep it up to you, it'd be your choice.(GxGolfer's)

Some tweeking to a square shape....I really think it needs "WRX" to identify us. I did the X as crossed clubs. Bottom pic squared up shape instead of italic, and no shaded areas.
The belt width could be any size you want to go with... I would personally prefer 1 1/4". Going much bigger than that, it would start looking like a rodeo buckle. It could also be done without a recessed dark background, and keep it all silver with a paintfill in the design grooves...make them zip grooves while yer' at it. :smilie_cleve:

This is the sample. I'm having a black and brown belt shipped to show color choices.

I don't wear real trendy JL-type gear, but Spin Doctor's belt looks like everyone could wear it.

I'd buy that.

The proto's okay, but I'd personally rather have an all-metal, no-color look. I think it's cooler, plus it matches everything.

I agree. I think that Spin Doctors is very classy. I think it should be brushed metal, similar to the finish that the Ping i series have.

I am not diging the color either. I think that it should be bigger and look less like a sticker. Not trying to put the design down or anything, just trying to help you make the best.

The proto is a sample. We are looking for a better design for member approval. The quality of the belt is incredible and the buckle is being done by someone known for Quality. Sergio, VJ, Luke, and others Sports stars have already started to sport belts by this maker.

I think that would look sharp too. I believe the Ping finish is bead-blasted instead of brushed though.

Will they be cast or photo chemical etched?

A few more GolfWRX/ClubWRX:
Maybe differentiate with Brushed finish vs. Bead-Blast, or polished with different color paintfills, gold, black, etc. stainless steel, nickel, brass, silver?

If photo chemical etched or stamped is the only option, then recessed grooves and lines.
If casting is an option, then a bas-relief could be done on the G logo:
A flat plane starting at full heighth from outside border, planing down to the inside G border around the curve from the top of the G to where it folds back up at the bottom, then radiusing down gradually towards the end of the G where it meets the club shaft.
The shaft could be radiused, and the club head face flat planed to give it some loft...that would look really good, IMO.
I wish I had some jeweler's casting wax so I could sculpt it in bas-relief!
Easy enough round milling the front edge of the buckle to the G (if the maker could offer that option).

why do they have to be square?

you should make them an emblem, ie lindeberg/puma, and make them interchangeable, maybe release new colour buckles every so often?

Recessed grooves would be easiest and least costly, it would be involved and probably a whole lot more expensive to mill a bas-relief.

Here are some more I came up with. I like these because it's actually like a logo. I also like the clubs because a big "G" on a belt might look a little bit tacky.

another thing to think about is a lot of the design comps so far resemble a super hero's belt... not my personal favorite thing to sport. I like the Puma and JL belts because they are modern and fairly simple in regards to their size. A belt buckle shouldn't be realestate to advertise... not big enough for people to really read and receive a clear message. The Brand recognition from something like this would be more if someone asks, "Hey, who makes that sweet looking belt you're wearing?" and we say "Golfwrx.com".
Solution... just a brushed metal "G" as designed in the golfwrx logo.
