JORDAN BRAND STEPS ONTO THE GREEN WITH JORDAN FLIGHT RUNNER GOLF SHOE

As a celebration of Michael Jordan’s well-known passion for golf, Jordan Brand unveils its newest retail golf shoe in over a decade: the Jordan Flight Runner Golf.

Since retiring from basketball, Jordan has fueled his competitive drive on the golf course, inspiring Jordan Brand designers to create this new performance silhouette. The limited-edition offering combines one of Jordan Brand’s premium training styles, the Jordan Flight Runner 2, with Nike Golf’s innovative Nike Free-inspired tooling.

“The Jordan Flight Runner Golf is the perfect combination of Jordan and Nike innovation coupled with Michael’s love for the game of golf,” said Larry Miller, President, Jordan Brand. “This is the same formula that helped us create some of the most iconic shoes over the past thirty years and we are excited to bring Jordan Brand energy to the golf course.”

The Jordan Flight Runner Golf combines mesh and synthetic materials in the upper for lightweight support and breathability, while the shoe’s dynamic Nike Flywire provides the ultimate lockdown fit. The midsole contains a forefoot moderation plate that stabilizes the foot when twisting and the lightweight injected unit delivers maximized comfort on the course.

The outsole’s TRI-LOK soft spikes and Free-inspired construction provide a flexible and supportive ride.

The Jordan Flight Runner Golf will be available this month in a black and grey colorway, exclusively on Jordan.com. Stay tuned to @Jumpman23 in the coming months for golf shoe updates.

With how much these resemble the TW15 I wonder if the release was accelerated with Tiger not wearing the shoe.  Much like the TW15 these look fine, unoffensive but not particularly interesting outside of the Jumpman.  What's promising is hopefully the "Stay tuned" means that something else will be released...like Keegan's version.

They're based off an already existing model. The Jordan Flight Runner 2.

Sole is TW '14 and upper is fight runner 2.

Nothing to do with TW. Jordan and Nike are separate companies, or Jordan assumes to be.

So flight runners retail for $120 and can always be found on sale, it's going to be extremely frustrating to see if these cost $200+

Agreed. I like the looks of these, but I'm not paying $200+ for a sneaker golf shoe. I think they'll really only get the sneaker/Jordan enthusiasts at that kind of price point.

Right, they appear to be a mix of that shoe and the TW15...at least to my eye.  I'd imagine you're more familiar with Nike than I, and I don't feel like doing the research on their corporate structure but I would assume Jordan, while perhaps operated somewhat independently, is still under the corporate umbrella of Nike and as such Nike could be releasing this shoe now to draw attention away from Tiger not wearing his signature shoe.

Or maybe it was in fact slated for release right now, but it would be naive to think that Nike isn't real enthused that one of their biggest athletes is wearing a five year old design and want to do something to draw attention to a different product.

So much for the Jordan golf shoe threads on wrx that claimed there's no way in hell...

Didn't pick up black TW '15s. Makes sense to get these in black.

Hopefully around $200 or less. We don't know the price yet so we can only speculate.

Black for me please. If I don't like them, I'm sure I'll be able to sell them.

I didn't think I was going to buy any new shoes this year. I sure wasn't going to buy the ugly TW11's TW is wearing now. J's? Absolutely

So in for a grey pair, being stuck in the middle east won't help though :(

Anymore details on release date? Might have to try get a pair from Europe if they are being released there as well

I used to love Jordan shoes growing up but wouldn't wear one of his basketball shoes now in my mid 30s for the court if you asked.  I also think KBs look awful and would wear those if they were free.

I like wide toe box golf shoes and really like grey shoes.  I am a former True addict but was thinking of picking up a few pair of gripmores for this season. I really like the look of the TW15 in grey but haven't been able to try in size 14 to see how comfy they may be.  That said, these grey ones look awesome. I want them.

I need a waterproof shoe though and I don't see that mentioned anywhere.

No way these shoes should retail for over $200. It's not even an original golf shoe, they just took a runner and added spikes and you're gonna charge MORE then the shoe worn by the current #1 player in the world? Not to mention the TW 15. Like someone above stated it seems odd that Tiger is no longer wearing the TW15 and all of a sudden we get a Jordan golf shoe?

I hate the upper toe white. I really hope that won't be distracting when I putt.

Black for me please. If I don't like them, I'm sure I'll be able to sell them.

I didn't think I was going to buy any new shoes this year. I sure wasn't going to buy the ugly TW11's TW is wearing now. J's? Absolutely

You might try putting with a Taylormade ball...maybe the seam on the ball will deflect your eye from the upper white toe.
