Great clubs, should be the standard by which others are judged in the "cut muscle" series.  After a series of near misses, Mizuno finally got it right with this set.

The feel is amazing as you can tell these clubs are really "thumping" the ball and getting it out there better than just about any other iron on the market.  A well struck shot can give most any decent player the "pro" trajectory of rising quickly, but then flattening out and flying to the target on a straight line, piercing thru the wind. The angle of descent is just as sweet. That said, I do have some minor nits with the face angle: it's a bit closed and bit too offset to make a 100% legit "players club." And maybe the overall size is just a hair too large. On those days when my swing is favoring a draw I can be a bit aware of these features.

But still I'm more than happy to keep using them and it would take a lot to get me to switch at this point.

Currently play MP-30s.  I've had them for 4 years and have always liked them, but I'm looking for something with a little more forgiveness.  Are these a logical next step?

A friend of mine got a MP-57 with project x shaft and DGs300 shaft.  I like and will always like the DGs-300 shaft for me.  I thought the project x's were too soft and increased the ball flight too much for me.  I like the feel of this iron very much, but am concerned about the offset compared to other irons in this category.  I love the feel of mizuno, but don't like the cavity in the new MP-52's and not sure about the new MP-62's of there foregiveness.  Has anyone tried these yet?  There are no posts on these.  My handicap is a 7, and saw these at golfsmith and they seemed thin to me, are they for a lower handicap player???

I've spent the past week trying out MP-57's, MP-60's, and MP-62's.
I've been playing Callaways for the past ten years and want to try some Mizunos.
I played Titleist forged through the 1980's and better part of the 1990's, and I really want to go back to more of a players club. I like the feedback that the Mizunos that I have sampled seem to offer and I will purchase a set by the end of the week.

Always have played Mizunos.  Got a set of the MP 57 with PX shafts.  I don't know what it was, but I hated them.  I suspect it was the shafts.  Went to an MP52 with DG S300 and I am back in Mizuno heaven.

Well, I finally have these irons after a year and two months of waiting and trying other things. I wanted these for a while and for some reason bought the Ping i10's. I played them for about eight months and I still really wanted the Mizunos. I picked up the MP-57's after hitting them at another demo day and I am playing great.

I have them shafted with the DGS300 shafts. The specs are standard loft, and lie with + 1/2 on the length. I would like to hit them with the x100 but that will be in my next set. I love the feel and flight of these clubs too much to make the change.

Now for the review...

Long Irons:

I hit these further than my Ping irons and the shafts stop the balloning that was constant with the AWT shafts. The 4, 5, 6 irons are just as easy to hit as the pitching wedge. The feel of the irons is buttery and after the soft click the ball is gone. Additionally, they sit behind the ball beautifuly. At first, I was worried about hitting the long irons because the blade of the club was a little smaller than my i10's but that worry was quickly dismissed.

Short Irons:
I can shape and flight these to the target easily. I think the increase in feel has helped me judge my distances a little better and I am finding myself closer to the pin. Again, they are easy to hit and they feel far superior to my i10's.

Note: I do like the MP-52's feel a little bit better, but I am waiting for the price to drop on those before I make a move. I guess that is the downside of working in education.

Hit em' straight,

Jeep

mx300 player here.  i was not too fond of mx300 pw because the loft was 45*.
my brother gave me a mp-57 pitching wedge which had been sitting in his garage.
i fell in love with it after the first swing.
it's such a nice club, i am thinking about getting a set of mp-57.
